Hello people!

I will give Content - Problem - Solution I am looking for - My knowledge in this.

Sorry if i have posted under wrong flair because I don't know whether this comes under Build help or discussions

Content:

1st PC

I have a Old PC that is 8gb Ram, 1050ti GPU, i5 6th gen, 1 tb ssd storage, Asus H110M-D motherboard, 650watts PSU Gold (i don't remember brand). I am planning to make it as a server but guide me through what can I do to achieve a secured storage server which can be used both for CCTV storage and storage that can be accessed from anywhere in the world. It also need to connect automatically when turned off and on again. This PC is at Native place so there is a frequent power cut.

2nd PC

RTX 3070Ti, 32gb Ram, AMD R7 5800X3d, 1.5 tb ssd - 1.5 cctv hdd (which i scrapped from old CCTV DVR). If I make this as a server then i want it to have both windows and server running so that my parents and It will be on use. Also to note this takes more watts and a PC that will be on use. I want to sync some files from it to the storage server am gonna be having or host files when this pc is turned on at needed times.

Also my laptop has wifi 7 so there is no connection speed problem for me.

Problem

I live in India and now moving abroad just for my master studies. I want to access the course files, data and a home based personal open source cloud storage that works for both syncing files between my phone - laptop - 2nd pc - cctv (but cctv files should be erasable after one year of recording), so that I can have only temporary files on my external ssd that I have while doing my studies. How to proceed ? Also it should be secured connection so that my parents would use it too. what is the profitable way to approach?

Solution am looking for

Secured storage home based server, if possible on my 1st PC which is in native place (will be powered on until there is a power cut).

Must be profitable investment (personal family use).

Accessible anywhere form the world.

how to utilize and is it good to utilize cctv hdd in my 1st PC to increase storage?

must be reliable and lifelong with backup features or data losing prevention.

how to proceed with remote connection if my isp gives me static ip?

ISP (India) I am going to be using mostly is - Airtel , BSNL or Village Fiber Internet (by rainbow communications).

File access between devices and Remote access for my 2nd PC from anywhere around the world (like TeamViewer or parsec)

sync must happen every few time period.

optional purpose that is not important is media streaming so that my parents can stream movies or photos on TV like using plex.

My knowledge in this

TrueNAS, Next cloud and Synology (compact server listed on amazon). Ethernet connections and working (I have a big roll of that CAT 6E cable).

To get a static ip if not to be complicated.

rsync method.

made raspberry pi 4 and a old laptop as a server very long time ago.

parsec, ngrok, port forwarding, team viewer, minecraft server, plex server (but that is only for media streaming).

Hi!

Looking for advice on upgrading my setup to improve thermals and reduce noises. Current performance is pretty poor temperature-wise, so I'm prioritizing function over form.

I'm on casual gaming, music production and not that soon, some photo/video editing as a hobby and my social media.

Current specs:

  • MoBo: ASUS ROG Strix B650E-E Gaming WIFI
  • CPU: Ryzen 7 7800X3D
  • RAM: 32GB Corsair Vengeance DDR5
  • Cooler: Arctic Liquid Freezer III 360mm
  • GPU: RTX 5070Ti PNY OC (got it for 590.00€ brand new - couldn't pass it up! but idle fans spin which means temps are higher than i expect, maybe)
  • Case: Phanteks Evolv ATX TG
  • PSU: be quiet! Power Zone 2 1000W
  • Storage: 2TB Samsung 980 Pro NVMe + 2TB & 1TB WD Blue HDDs (planning to replace the HDDs for speed, reliability and noise)
  • Fans: Stock Phanteks 2x 140mm + stock Arctic 3x 120mm fans from AIO

What I'm looking to improve:

  1. Case upgrade - current thermals are terrible
  2. Better fans and fan configuration for improved airflow
  3. Sleeved cables for cleaner look
  4. Some lighting to brighten things up, i would set a low light for some ambient, nothing RGB master race stuff which I don't care about.

Priority: Thermals & noise reduction >>> aesthetics

Questions:

  • Any case recommendations for better airflow with this setup? I would like to keep the tempered glass at least on the side panel obv and wouldn't like to get a smaller case than the Evolv.
  • Best fan configuration for the new case?
  • Worth upgrading the stock fans? Which ones should I get?

Thanks in advance for any advice!

So I recently got a new graphics card that only has 1 HDMI port, 1 C port and 2 Displayports but I have a Huion screen tablet and a monitor that both require HDMI ports. I tried buying a Displayport to HDMI cable to replace the monitor's HDMI cable but the resolution was stuck at 640 with no way of changing it. The main issue is my monitor only has two HDMI and 1 VGA ports, no Displayports at all. I'm not a super tech savy person but from what I understand is that there's a difference between HDMI to Displayport and Displayport to HDMI? I don't know what my best solutions are other than going to my old graphics card or buying a new monitor.

Would any of these options below be better choices?

Option 1

Option 2

Option 3

Any suggestions or advice would be very much appreciated.

I saw there were a lot of issues with this CPU in combination with some motherboards, mostly of ASRock, but I'm just curious should I be updating BIOS as soon as I build the PC or am I safe to install just the OS and go along with it?

Looking for a AMD CPU and a Nvidia graphics card build. A case long big enough that the radiator doesn’t press against the GPU and the case screen

I'm asking this here hoping to get clear answers, so I happen to have a Crucial 16gb DDR5 4800mhz ram in the ready, and I'm hoping to pair it with another 16gb stick and I have two options. I can either buy the exact same stick or the 5200mhz one, and it just so happens that the 4800mhz one is almost out of stock and is sold for a higher price, so the 5200mhz one is considerably cheaper and I'm thinking of going for it. Would it cause any issues regarding compatibility with my 4800 one? Thanks.

I am not talking about the motherboard touching the back plate. I mean the part of the case where you plug everything in(mouse and keyboard, internet port). My micro atx motherboard touches that with it sides.

I am using standoffs and the motherboard itself is not touching the back plate.

Is this safe? There seems to be no other way to fit the motherboard into the case.

I am almost finished with my build. So i really want to know if its safe.

Hello i have bought the B850M AORUS ELITE WIFI 7 ICE-P motherboard. It was a China exclusive board. I can’t find the bios updates anywhere and when I look up the motherboard name it is as if it never existed. It works however I have constant freezes in games and crashes. If anybody knows when it will eventually come out or how to find the drivers thank you.
