We have a UA-HUB-DOOR running on a Unifi Cloud key - How do we get email notifications on door entry?

Everything is working and I can see all our door entries within the systemlog but cannot for the life of me find anywhere to setup door access email notifications.

Any help much appreciated!

Thanks

Im upgrading my homes wifi and have fallen in love with Ubiquiti devices. Currently with only 3 Aps, Switch and using my PC as the network controller.

In the near future I plan on expanding but I think the UDM is a bit of overkill for my home setup but the UDR doesn't run enough programs, as I want to run Unifi, Protect and access for my main door entrance.

Does Ubiquiti plan on releasing any new products which will do such a thing and I wait out for that? Or should I just stick to the old reliable UDM Pro and buy another access point.

My walls are made of solid brick, old style house and running cables is a bit problematic so the less devices the better really

I'm looking at the UI store, shopping for a camera for the back of my house. What's the difference between the G4/5 bullet design and the dome or flex design? Is the zoom better on the bullet design?

I currently host the Unifi Controller via Docker on a Synology NAS. I now have a Unifi Express and want to migrate to that. As I understand it, this involves restoring a backup taken from the existing controller. However I cannot use the Unifi web UI to download a backup - it just doesn't do anything.

When I go into the controller's backup section, I can see some backups listed in there, from the autobackup function. How can I get hold of these files?

Got a U7 Pro today and now all my APs are showing a warning "This device is connected to a USW-24-PoE with limited power availability."

I plan to disconnect one U6-IW, but ultimately I was looking at upgrading the switch to Switch Pro Max 24 PoE, which has 2.5G ethernet and 400W of PoE power, rather than 95W what I currently have. It's out of stock at the moment.

Any issue if I keep running my switch like this for a few weeks? I mean it's supposed to have another 15W of power buffer.

Ubiquiti has a Special Offer if you buy a UNVR or UNVR Pro that you get a Free G4 Camera (UNVR) or Free G4 Pro (UNVR Pro).

Hey everyone!

I'm super new to Unifi and currently loving it. I picked up an UX and that's been working great for my apartment. Picking up the UK-Ultra just to round out the signal throughout the place. I want to get two cameras to function as baby monitors for our twins. Currently looking at the G4 Instant. I know that the UX doesn't have Protect so I was thinking about picking up a CloudKey+ to fill that gap. I was wondering if that would be possible with my current setup. I also know the UX has a max adoption of 4 other devices.

Any input would be great! We can't afford the UDM-Pro and the Dream Router is still out of stock or else I'd just get that.

I am diving deeper down the wifi rabbit hole. I just moved and I am using an old arris surfboard I had back from 2019 and I find that its been rebooting on me. I saw the dream machine in one of Network Chucks videos and I said well damn that seems pretty sweet and am a little bit of a nerd. Looked into it last night and I found a more practical device, the dream router. It uses WiFi 6 and I learned we are now on the cusp of Wifi 7. I need something soon and I want this router so bad but there no where in stock. Should I scrap this and go for something else? My router looks to restart every morning and I think I can manage this for a month or so.

This is probably a noob question, but is there a way to submit feature requests for Unifi networking?

Hi all,

I’m experiencing a serious fault in my enterprise network that takes the entire thing down. Looking for suggestions on how to tackle this!

I’ve got a third party gateway on 10.255.253.1 with a route to 10.255.253.2. This is as suggested by the Ubiquiti documentation on Layer 3 Routing with UniFi Switches.

The aggregation switch is holding the 10.255.253.2 address on rt_v4040. The issue is that the network completely drops offline based on this IP address becoming unreachable, therefore nothing can be routed as everything goes through the UniFi layer 3 routing.

Hard restarting the aggregation switch temporarily resolves the issue until it randomly reoccurs. Sometimes the aggregation switch restarts itself. I want to remove the aggregation switch from the network entirely to eliminate a hardware fault, but because it’s running the 10.255.253.2 address, the entire network drops when the aggregation switch is disconnected from the network.

According to the documentation, the switch that gets 10.255.253.2 is the first switch that layer 3 routing is enabled on. How can I select another switch to run this address so that I can disconnect the aggregation switch from the network?

Our network is: 10.255.253.1 third party gateway/firewall VLAN4040 intervlan routing on UniFi 10.255.253.2/3/4/5/6 Various other vlans where the router is set in the controller as another switch, not the aggregation switch.

Whatever I’ve tried, the aggregation switch can’t be removed despite no devices being connected to it other than its uplink, as it’s providing this next hop gateway (10.255.253.2) that is required by the network.

I can't remember what is in the box when you order from the eu store. Is there an Invoice or only a packing slip?

I need to send a large order to a customer directly....

I have a UDMP with three networks: Main, IoT/Smart Home, and Guest. Obviously I want to keep these three subnets largely isolated from one another, but allow some traffic between them (Allow a PC on "Main" to access the Home Assistant box on "IoT"; Allow clients on "Guest" to access my media server on "Main", etc).

Currently I only have IPv4 enabled on my UDMP, and everything's working fine, with some firewall rules allowing the traffic I want. However, I'd like to enable IPv6 as well, but still maintain this security configuration.

I cannot find good documentation on how to enable this and configure inter-VLAN firewall rules for IPv6, especially as my ISP (Spectrum) uses dynamic IPv6 addresses so it's possible for the addresses to change without warning. Is there a proper way to set this up, or any recommended guides for doing so?

I lost the USB C looking cable for the Theda AI camera ()

No regular USB cable will work with this camera. Apparently Unifi changed a fewpins intentionally $$to make this a proprietary cable.

Cant seem to find it for sale on their site or online. Can you guys advise on how to get a hold of this cable?

Is it possible to have the cameras detect both "motion" and "smart detection" but to only have notifications for the smart detections?

The use case is that I have waaay too many notifications if setup for motion. However, last night, my bin blew away and I want to see when/how it happened. However, the motion is not highlighted in the playback so it is pretty much impossible for me to find. I want motion highlighted so I can find it easily.

I have a Dream Machine SE and a U6LR which I connected via the small od Ethernet cable, I've noticed the u6 does get a hot

My biggest problem is I'm new to Unifi and previously connecting to wifi was just a password away, for some reason on UID I have to enter domain, identity, certificate and password and even after doing all that it will time out and not connect to my android phone, I'm beyond frustrated at this point TBH, my ISP's wifi was a breeze compared to this, I thought ubiquiti will generate a QR to join the network

I finally finished it by installing identity app on my phone but I can't connect to my own wifi without it

Will be installing these cameras at my house soon. Need to figure out a solution (either a housing or a cage or something else) to protect one camera that’s located near a basketball net…current camera gets beat up pretty frequently by errant balls. Any ideas?
