Hey everyone, I'm a newbie when it comes to this stuff. I have a Ryzen 5 PRO 4655G, 16GB DDR4 3200MHz RAM, and a 500GB SSD. I ran a benchmark in a game(unigine heaven) and got an average of 25 FPS, which felt low. But the PC runs really well for browsing and even using SolidWorks.

I’ve already updated Windows, checked all drivers, and even updated the BIOS. Any advice on what I can do to improve gaming performance? Not sure if I should upgrade something or change some settings.

Just built a 7800x3d build with a refurbished 7800xt for 655$ that i had to send back bc it came broken out of box. They’re out of stock so the replacement they offered was a 7800xt for 735$ but that seems like getting so close to the price of the 7900xt or 9070xt it just seems more worth it to spend the extra for one of those. Any thoughts would be helpful i wanna keep it below 950$ if i do go for a more expensive card and 16 gb of ram minimum so no 5070.

Just wondering if having temps 53c while gaming for my gpu is normal or like if that means its underclocking or smth.

i play THE FINALS on steam and my 7500F run as TPD over 65W(default), Power usage 70%, TEMP ~ 70.

is it normal?

Aiming for 1440 and 60 fps on new games.

Current setup is Ryzen 7 1700x 16 GB Ram 1070ti 750w power

Thinking of switching the 1070ti for a 7800xt and upgrading to 32gb of ram. Would this be sufficient to get a " medium " experience out of new games for near future?

I have researched a bit, the normal temp for idling is 30-40 for GPU, which I get 37-39, which is okay.

but when playing games like ark survival, it goes up to 74-78 (which I know, it is also normal). But what else I can install on my system to make it reduce to 60-70'C? I have tried to place a case fan to divert the air to gpu but doesn't have any effects.

Switching air cond in my "small" room only reduce 2-3'C

I'm looking for a mouse that:

* Is wireless

* Has at least a few months of battery life

* Comes with at least 2 extra buttons I can click with my thumb

* Is left-handed or ambidextrous.

All of these requirements are trivial to find individually, but I can't seem to find them all combined anywhere, even if I'm willing to pay quite a lot. This confuses me since all of these things are pretty basic. Any recommendations?

I just finished building my PC from scratch. Granted, most parts were purchased used and when I booted for first time, it started windows without my installation drive even being inserted. Should I wipe it and install another instance?

I built a PC about a year ago for $1700, with a Ryzen 7 7800X3D and a RX 7900 GRE. However, it has been shutting down seemingly randomly. Sometimes 20 times a day, sometimes 0 times a day; and it seems to have no correlation with what I am doing (me playing gaming with graphics on ultra on 2k monitor does not crash any more frequently than me just surfing through emails with 1 tab open and no other processes). I believe it is power instability in my house, at least in my bedroom specifically. I have a 1000w power supply. I know I need to get a good ups, but I'm broke right now so even the cheapest option I will probably have to wait a couple months to save up for; a more expensive option I will have to wait several months to save up for. What would you guys recommend? I am aiming for low $200 so I can get it as soon as possible, or maybe even cheaper if I can find a deal. And is there anything I should do until then?

I manage to get 5080 day one. I did pair it with my old 5800x3d. Since i was using 4K monitor i thought that CPU bottleneck wouldn't be an issue.

In Indiana Jones for example full PT (DLSS/P) at the begging there is no big difference around 5 FPS which is fine i guess. But when u enter crowded area like Vatican or village in Ghiza difference is like 25 FPS and smooth frame time. Previously even on PT all maxed out in towns GPU usage would drop to arond 80% and FPS would go as low as 40-45. But now smooth 65-70. In Cyberpunk same situation. In Dogtown which is CPU heavy most of the time i'm sitting at fixed 60 with drops when i drive car. Biggest difference i saw in MH Wilds. 5800x3d struggles really hard. Around 50+- FPS with (DLSS/Q) and massive lag spikes. I remember in towns it would drops as low as 30-40. It was required to use FG to play it. But now everything is smooth above 60+ without FG. This is all on 4K.

New AM5 platform with modern DDR5 is game changer.

So I went to my local pc store today just to browse. Jokingly asked og they had any 4090 or 5090s in stock. To my surprise staff brought out a ASUS 4090 TUF 800 CAD taxes included.

So I just bought it without hesitation. I currently use a 3090 paired with a AM4 5800X. I make decent money and would've never actually bought a 5090 if available.

Would've you have pulled the trigger just like me? And now am I stuck upgrading my PC. All your opinions are greatly appreciated.

EDIT: 2800 CAD

My PC has these weird video artifacts. Green línea and black dots everywhere around the screen. And the screen becomes completely black and stays like that for a fee seconds. If i saw these artifacts while using a gpu i would know that it's completely dead. But i dont use one. I use the igpu. Is it completely dead?

Does anyone know realistically how often 9800x3d’s get restocked? (On stores like Newegg for example) Trying to grab one for my build but they’ve been out of a stock for a bit and idk how long I’m gonna be waiting😭

Like the cheapest graphics card / cpu or whatever is needed that can do that. I know it's a demanding game.

So this is like the third time that I am asking it but this is the last call next week I'm going to buy the pc so I will lay it out very simple the 9800x3d is 550$ in my country and the 9900x is 430$

I'm doing 50% gaming on 1440p 240hz, 35% watching youtube and 15% 3d modeling fusion 360 and blender. (I'm going to pair it with the 5070ti)

Gaming

The games I play are valorant, MW III, mfsm 2024,Forza motorsport, uncharted 4,horizon forbidden west and more AAA games.

I heard that you gain a big uplift in performance (15-20 fps) with the 3dv cache on simulator games but does it really matter on this resolution?

3d modeling

The 3d modeling now is just as a hobby I have a 3d printer so I make things but not something crazy maybe I will do in the future more intensive tasks but I don't want to to much futureproof it.

Which CPU do you think suit my case better?

I have a 3070 right now and am mostly fine since I don't play too many AAA games and spend most of my time with older, indie and console games. But whenever I do want to play a graphically intensive game I find myself wishing for a little more (most recently Clair Obscur).

To be frank, I am a student and don't have an income to afford a card like this but I do have a significant amount of money saved up (Let's just say I could buy at least two 5090s from my savings). The only reason I'm even seriously considering this is because the improvement in rendering speed was so low with the 50-series. If no significant breakthrough is made it looks like there won't be anything too much faster than a 5090 for quite a while, so I'm hoping to buy this thing once and use it for a long time. Even if it ends up midrange in 6 years I will still be where I'm at with my 3070 now.

I'd love to hear your thoughts.

P.S. I'm in Europe so the orange man is not such a big concern for me (hopefully)

Edit: I have more money in the stock market than just my liquid savings which I meant in the text above. Many people are saying I'm spending half my life savings. I am not. I realize it's still a large purchase but some people are overexaggerating how much this will affect me.

Whenever I get a game I always have such a hard time tweaking my settings to get it working and a lot of games I just can’t make work. I feel like my pc is good enough that I should be able to run most games on lower settings but a lot of things just won’t be stable. Idk, it’s got me thinking my ultra wide could be killing my performance.

For example, I want to play the oblivion remaster but I can’t get it to be above 20 fps even with low settings and FSR and some performance mods. Not sure exactly what my issue is.

Specs:

RX 6600 Eagle

5600X

32 GB ram

MSI B550 motherboard

750w power supply

Sceptre 21:9 2560 x 1080 monitor (C305B-200UN1)

Also an old acer 1920 x1080 monitor as my secondary, not sure the exact name of it. I don’t use it for any gaming

Windows 10

Let me know if I need to add additional information, first time posting here.

I brought this PC from an E-bay seller and my PC temperature was really high. 77-82 to be exact. And I was wondering if I should get a new cooler especially the one I got is a AMD socket cooler which is pretty cheap and pretty mid. I have a RTX 2060 and B450 motherboard, I have a small case so please don't recommend me a big cooler. I need a cooler that has 2 fans max to fit in the pc.

I currently have an Intel Core i5-10400F, I am looking for a graphics card that goes well with this processor to have as little bottleneck as possible, in 1080p on big games.

i’ve been wanting to build a rig for a long time now and finally decided to treat myself. at first i was going to go for an all black build but i changed my mind last minute and went with a black and white build. this’ll be for gaming and music/video creation. couldn’t be prouder of how it turned out!

Hi!

I just built a new pc. I got a Gigabyte 850W UD850GM PG5.

The cpu power cable connects to 8 pin on the PSU and have two outgoing headers (Split cable?) going to either 8 pin or 8+8 pin.

Should I connect both 8 and 8 pin on the motherboard with ONE CPU 8 pin EPS cable? Im thinking that maybe I need another 8 pin to 8 pin PSU EPS cable to connect to the other 8 pin on the MB?

Sorry for the confuse... Please help! I know its probably not needed to plug 8+8 pin on MB with my CPU but if I can to increase stability or OC I want to. I have read the manual of both PSU and MB and cant get my grip on if ONE 8 pin cable is enough to benefit from 8+8 CPU MB connection...

RTX 5060TI 16GB

GIGABYTE Z790 AX GAMING X

i5 14600K

GIGABYTE UD850GM PG5 REV2

GSKILL 48GB 7200Mhz

NZXT KRAKEN AIO

Thanks guys!
