I am struggling to find a company in the tampa bay area that provides reasonably health plans with low deductable/monthly premiums . I really do not want to join the union before you suggest it

Didn’t take physics 11 in highschool, need it to become an electrician apprentice here in British Columbia Canada. Any suggestions?? Could always go back and do it online but I would rather not.

I know there are plenty of Ecad programs out there for small electronics and arduino circuits etc. but is there anything out there for our side of things? A/c stuff (8 pins, start -stop switches, contactors, SSRs etc.) I know you could use a paint program or sketchup or something and just draw a bunch of stuff together on a screen but there is no way to validate it or simulate it or verify it all works. Any suggestions are welcome.

Hi

I’m currently a first year apprentice I work in residential properties chaining accessories, board changes, re wires etc

I’m looking at getting my first impact to stop the delay and nuisance of swapping between myself and who I’m shadowing. It will mainly be used for screwing up smokes, lights taking up floor boards etc

I don’t have any power tools yet and I was wondering between 18v or 12v.

At the end of my apprenticeship at least I will buy a set of all the power tools I’ll need so will have a copy of the 18v if I go for that one, just wondering if anyone has similar daily work habits that can advice on if 12v will be enough for what I need or to just go for the 18v? (Thinking of Milwaukee fuel line btw)

Thanks

Good day all,

I find myself having trouble finding an exact article to reference in regards to the need for a range stove circuit to be a three wire with ground versus a two wire with ground. In a lot of internet searching the closest I can get is 250.140 but I was trying to find if there was an exact wording that just straight says it is required or is it based solely on the equipment intended to be installed.

Any help here would be great. For the record, I would pull a three wire regardless but this is more for a research purpose than any argument to not pull a neutral.

Thanks all.

(If this post is not acceptable in this community take down if necessary) Hi guys I have recently been on an extensive search in hopes of finding a specific type of notepad that some of you may have seen before. The notepad in question, boggling my dire search is a run of the mill notepad with a hard cover and back that can easily fit in the front pocket of a shirt, a defining characteristic of said notepad is what already lays inside. You see my supply house used to carry a notepad with information inside the first few pages pre-printed relating to different components of the field (wire sizing, conduit fill, and motor ratings, etc.). I found this notepad very useful but in recent events has came up missing. If anyone is familiar with a notepad of this nature please let me know where one can obtain this fine piece of art or if you have any questions please let me know, thank you and have a wonderful rest of your day!

Hello everyone, I'm currently an electrical apprentice going on their 2nd year of a 4 year program that is state sponsored (Ohio) through a big industrial manufacturing company. They came and told us today that in 2 weeks they're gonna put all 4 year apprentices, which includes electrical, mechanical, and tool and die training and apprenticeships on hold for the foreseeable future. They told us that we'll be going back to somewhere in assembly, but they didn't know at this time. They're gonna start giving cutback options tomorrow. The only silver lining that they gave is that our pay will be kept the same as it is now, we won't be getting pay deductions, and we'll still be getting our schooling paid for. What is the policy for a company to suspend an apprenticeship, can they even do that? If they can't who would I have to talk to about it? We're all so confused and frustrated about it that I'm reaching out to Reddit for some guidance and answers. Thank you everyone for taking the time to read this.

I need of 4 of these... Between ordering and third party communication, these somehow missed the order. It doesn't fall back on us but, ordering from factory will take months, lead times are stupid as you all know.

Hello everyone. Question: As per Canadian code are we allowed to install power disconnect on the side of vertical lifting post of a parking carlift?

what hand lotions do you yall use? In the winters here(midwest) they get so dry they crack and bleed. Im not as concerned about having super soft hands as I am about having something that prevents my hands from being literally chapped. I tried O'Keifs Working hands, it doesnt help much. another buddy in trades told me its garbage too. You all use something that prevents you from feeling like a desert monster when you touch a woman? Or are your wives filing for divorce?

Found a Milwaukee tool on the side of the road and was wondering outside of posting to my local area Facebook group about it if you guys have any other crafty ideas to find a tools rightful owner?

It’s expensive enough that I know I’d very much like it back if I were them.

Safe area, assumed it fell out of a truck based on the location. No bites on fb yet for 24 hrs and we live in a pretty small area with a lot of facebooking in the community.
