Basically the title. I want primarily full performance, purely for gaming. My budget was 1.5k, and I was able to get a 7700 for the same price as a 7600 in my country, so I went with the 7700 paired with a 7900 XT.

Is there anything I should change, or am I good to go and order?

Looking to upgrade my 1070 to an RX 7800 XT (or equivalent depending on budget) But with AMD rumoured to be dropping the new series in Q1 this year, would it be better for me to just wait for that and watch as the 7XXX series all drop in price/start selling pre-owned.

How's it happened in the past? do the last gen models usually drop in RRP or does the awfully inflated GPU market make them hold their value?

My budget is not astronomical enough that I'd even consider the new models

I just picked up a 7-inch touchscreen and am looking for apps/programs to use it. I was thinking about turning it into a volume mixer or a media controller, but I have been unable to find any applications that seem suitable for that purpose. I am also open to other suggestions but would appreciate any ideas or recommendations for programs.

Original Title: Crystal Mark Retro results. I have zero idea what any of the numbers mean. Can someone explain them to me like I am 5 years old. I've been googling and since I am i guess totally literate in this area none of the explanations of other peoples info clarify anything.

I've been using the Corsair Strafe for a few months, but after long coding sessions, my wrists are killing me. I've tried multiple wrist rests, but none of them really helped. Eventually, I gave up and switched back to my backup keyboard, the Logitech K120.

To my surprise, I type much faster on it, and my mistypes have significantly decreased. The layout and profile feel just right for me. However, I don't want to stick with it because the inconsistent keypress force—depending on where I hit the key—makes for a frustrating experience.

So, can anyone recommend a mechanical keyboard with linear switches that has a similar profile and size to the K120? My budget is capped at $100. I also don’t mind if it lacks a numpad since I never use it.

Thanks in advance!

My friend FINALLY wants to build a pc and gave me a 1.5K to build him a pc that’s good at gaming and editing. It’s been so long since i’ve chosen pc parts to build someone’s pc. I just need help on how much storage I should get him (HDD? SSD? M.2?) and what kind of CPU should I get? Thank you!

So this is a werid one, when i load into some games (this doesnt happen all the time) my PC will just randomly shut down and boot itself up again. This has been a problme that comes and goes.

Specs etc

  • Got it 3 Years ago brand new
  • 11th Gen Intel(R) Core(TM) i9-11900 @ 2.50GHz 2.50 GHz
  • Kingston FURY Beast RGB DDR4 3200MHz 32GB (16x2)
  • Cooler Master ML240L V2 RGB
  • ROG STRIX B560-F GAMING WIFI Motherboard
  • 750W MWE Gold Coolermaster V2 PSU
  • Cooler Master Masterbox TD500 Mesh White
  • GeForce RTX 3080 GAMING Z TRIO 10G LHR

All temps are good and nothing is overheating to my knowledge. I have factory reset it, updated it to windows 11, CMOS reset, all nividia/BIOs are up to date.

Im not very knowledgable when it comes to computers either so that doesnt help, any help or input is more than appreciated.

Hopefully this is the correct subreddit

I am looking to get a cheap $500 PC for my fiancée who will be working in in some graphic design and animation software. Not blender or 3D rendering but 2D hand drawn animation.

I found 2 PCs in my price range and wanted your opinion on which would be better. We are on a tight budget so I want to pick the cheaper one but the more expensive one is temping. I was told a GTX card is better for graphic design but I’m not sure on the different between the GTX and RTX card offered in the two systems.

$475

  • ryzen 5 3600
  • GTX 1070
  • gigabyte x570 motherboard
  • 16GB DDR4

$550

  • intel I7 9700
  • RTX 2060
  • gigabyte b365m ds3h motherboard
  • 32 GB DDR4

I mainly just want to know if the $475 is overpriced or if the $550 is underpriced and which system would be worth investing into. Thanks for your input on this!
