I kinda think it’s a game. Putin told trump to say it so they can act like they’re not in bed together

[–] [email protected] 7 points 6 days ago

This is my 2 cents on it as well.

[–] [email protected] 7 points 6 days ago (1 children)

So when Putin says "I love you" after Trump sucks his dick, he's lying?

[–] [email protected] 1 points 6 days ago

It's hard to tell when, instead of kissing him on the lips, he throws a towel at his face

[–] [email protected] 3 points 6 days ago (1 children)

Considering how all of MAGA played 2020 ( they downright knew the facade the whole time) There’s not a doubt Trump knew what was going on. He may play a dumb American but there’s just no way trump just realized this. He’s known it all along just like 2020.

[–] [email protected] 1 points 6 days ago

He's not a complete idiot, but he has very little knowledge, which in many situations is almost the same thing. However, I wouldn't underestimate his daddy issues. Even a highly intelligent person (which he definitely is not) can fall to inner biases, and I wouldn't put it past dictators to fit neatly into the hole in his heart from never receiving papa's love.

What? Noooo…

[–] [email protected] 2 points 6 days ago

US recon planes are again flying over the black sea.

[–] [email protected] 153 points 1 week ago (3 children)

Let's see if Trump reverts to his old position again in a couple of days.
I don't trust anything Trump says, he also said to multiple major European leaders, that he would sanction Russia if they didn't agree to a ceasefire.
A week has gone by, and as usual Trump has done nothing to help Ukraine.

[–] [email protected] 2 points 4 days ago

It's all an act. Putin let him know that he's about to start bombing cities, and told HitlerPig to verbally condemn it, but do nothing else. It gives him the ability to say that he's not in Putin's pocket, after all, he condemned the Ukrainian bombing.

Talk is cheap, especially Political talk, and ESPECIALLY HitlerPig talk.

[–] [email protected] 47 points 1 week ago (2 children)

Trump will never directly help Ukraine. He simply won't. Best he'll do is stop helping Putin. Even that's a far off "if".

“There are no longer any range restrictions on weapons delivered to Ukraine – neither by the British, nor by the French, nor by us, nor by the Americans,”

[–] [email protected] 18 points 1 week ago (1 children)

Notice how Trump isn't mentioned at all in this.

[–] [email protected] 11 points 1 week ago (1 children)

Well, shit.

Biden did that.

I’ll have at recalibrate my thoughts a bit.

[–] [email protected] 5 points 6 days ago (1 children)

Nice work finding that. Cheers

[–] [email protected] 3 points 6 days ago (1 children)

I dug a bit deeper still after the above comment, and my additional findings ostensibly seem to contradict your sentiments, but actually lend credence to them.

Quoting myself (roughly) -

It looks like they ran out of ATACMS in March and the U.S. has been sending the significantly less effective GLSDB as a replacement.

[–] [email protected] 5 points 6 days ago* (last edited 6 days ago)

Seems like those articles just highlight how much of a test bed Ukraine is for weapons manufacturers more than anything to do with policy. But i could be misreading it, it's early for me.

[–] [email protected] 5 points 1 week ago

depends on how scared of putin, trump is from time to time. many times trumps was ghostly white after "talking" to putin, when something goes bad for putin.

[–] [email protected] 14 points 1 week ago

He will forget by tomorrow.

[–] [email protected] 78 points 1 week ago (1 children)

The best case scenario is that Trump really was such a moron as to believe Putin wanted peace and now feels betrayed and does a 180 on Ukraine policy. Much more likely he will stay the course on screwing Ukraine.

[–] [email protected] 30 points 1 week ago

I think it's less of "Putin wanted peace", but that "Putin is amenable to peace if he gets everything he wants", which might have even been true before the Russian economy got so wrecked that stopping the war would crash it.

[–] [email protected] 51 points 1 week ago (2 children)

I admire the take that Trump is able to realize stuff.

But I'm not very hopefull

[–] [email protected] 13 points 1 week ago

It's like doing a mirror test on a wild animal

[–] [email protected] 6 points 1 week ago

He'll forget in day and believe Putin again

[–] [email protected] 33 points 1 week ago* (last edited 1 week ago) (2 children)

It is just time to play both sides and make it out like DT is reasonable. He has done nothing to reign in Russia and I highly doubt he would do anything but a symbolic gesture.

This is just a White House propaganda piece. Make people doubt his allegiance to Russia. A big waste of our time, but that appears to be the point.

[–] [email protected] 4 points 6 days ago

Propaganda is useful. It might be wrong, but there is a specific reason they're saying it.

[–] zenitsu 7 points 1 week ago* (last edited 6 days ago)

They were even spared from the "universal" tariffs lmao

[–] [email protected] 27 points 1 week ago (1 children)

Is he talking about the actual US President Donald Trump?

I don't think he has the mental capacity to realize anything

[–] [email protected] 29 points 1 week ago (1 children)

this is strategic. By appealing to his ego, he can tell trump that putin has been lying, while calling trump smart for realizing it instead of calling him gullible for not realizing it.

[–] [email protected] 7 points 1 week ago* (last edited 1 week ago)

Ah, and he won't be able to realize that either.

But I have a feeling when more countries with well respected leaders say the same thing, and state the same thing to appeal to his ego, it will further cement the idea in Trump's mind, that Putin "cheated him".

I don't have high expectations, but let's see how it plays out.

But to be clear, if something else were to remove Trump from being the problem I wouldn't oppose that either.

[–] Lucidlethargy 27 points 1 week ago

Trump is such a fucking gullible, demented moron. The only people dumber than him are the people that voted for him.

[–] [email protected] 26 points 1 week ago (1 children)

Yeah, but Zelenskyy didn’t wear a suit or thank trump himself publicly for the hundredth time, so I’m sure trump is still team Putin.

[–] [email protected] 24 points 1 week ago
[–] [email protected] 23 points 1 week ago

Macron hasn't realised Trump is lying to him

[–] [email protected] 22 points 1 week ago

I doubt it. But it'd be nice.

[–] [email protected] 19 points 1 week ago (2 children)

Please.

The sole redeeming factor about Trump is being extremely unpredictable. He is a quintessentially ignorant American in that way. No one can reliably control him, he will flip-flop between diametrically opposed positions at will.

Hopefully chaos impersonated will turn on Putin for a while. Hell, if Trump continues to ignore legal precedent he may be able to harm Russia more than Biden ever did.

[–] [email protected] 12 points 1 week ago (1 children)

The sole redeeming factor

yeah I really don't see this as a redeeming factor but I don't disagree with the overall premise

[–] [email protected] 8 points 1 week ago (1 children)

Fair, "positive aspect" would've been significantly better wording. There's nothing Trump can do to redeem himself unless he does an inverse John Fetterman.

[–] [email protected] 3 points 1 week ago
[–] taladar 4 points 1 week ago

if Trump continues to ignore legal precedent

Can you really be said to ignore something if you are totally ignorant of its existence?

[–] atzanteol 16 points 1 week ago

French President Emmanuel Macron believes US President Donald Trump has finally realised that Russian leader Vladimir Putin has been deceiving him.

Oh my no... The cognitive dissonance will take over. Trump will be back to blaming Ukraine and talking about how wonderful Putin is again in short order

[–] [email protected] 15 points 1 week ago

Yeah that's a bit of a slap in the face really.

[–] [email protected] 10 points 1 week ago (2 children)

Anyone who believes this headline is dumber than Trump himself.

[–] [email protected] 19 points 1 week ago

I do believe Macron said that. What else is the headline stating?

[–] [email protected] 9 points 1 week ago

"I believe that President Trump has realised that when President Putin told him he was ready for peace, he was lying," Macron emphasised

[–] [email protected] 6 points 1 week ago

When they have the kompromat, they even let you be pretend mad from time to time. Talk is cheap though.

[–] [email protected] 4 points 1 week ago (2 children)

Guess Putin forgot to give Trumpie a plane.
