Best guess gets to dance with me one day ...

Haha. Well I stayed in bed until 9 am so I did one better.

Got a damn cold or flu or whatever and have been off all week apart from Monday.

Cheers Zag. Yeah they said they'll get another person to stand in for me. It's a huge company so it's not like I'm letting people down in the grand scheme of things. I just feel like I'm letting the small crew down that I was with.

As a higher up supervisor text yesterday, there's plenty of flu and Covid getting around right now.

I'm sure the world will keep on spinning.

Went to work on Monday with a bit of a cold. I stayed home yesterday and today as I'm feeling pretty shit. I'm letting people at work down as I'm acting as a fire spotter for welders. They should be able to find somebody to stand in though. Bugger.

To TRK. I cannot open up your post to upvote you or reply to you. So I'm doing it here. That looks like fun, for the hounds anyway.

Very bloody cold. Down to 3 degrees later in the week in places.

Depends on you of course. But if you would still be doing something that you like or don't mind doing then yes for sure. We go to work to pay the bills and so if we can get more money then that's a good thing.

I'm a very experienced electrician ( industrial and commercial ) with Petro Chem and extra high voltage experience. I'm also a very experienced and trained fire alarm installer/tech.

Last year I took in a job as storeman/trade assistant. I was also asked if I'd do FIFO. I did the FIFO thing for 7 weeks. I was a fire spotter on 11 hour night shifts. Back at the workshop I sometimes sweep up and empty bins. Sometimes I do deliveries or pick ups in a small truck. I also fill up shipping containers with a big variety of gear ready for big jobs.

Right now I'm standing around as a fire spotter out on site again. Sometimes I pass things to the boys, but mainly I'm twiddling my thumbs.

So yeah, have I taken a big step down ? Could I earn more money doing what I've done for so long in the past ? Yes to both, but I'm doing something different and I'm very content.

Well that was a ramble, but I think you now know my answer. Good luck.

Glad my memory works. I wonder why I thought you were once a courier ? Mixed up with another person then.

But hey that's sad news about the dog dudes.

Aah yeah rings a bell. Why I even remember you delivering a beer via air to your neighbour. ( I think that's correct )

Close. Redland Bay but yeah on the way to Russell.

Hmmmm. Also, what about when people send messages from their I phone and it says "sent from my I phone" ?

This Motorola thing only started after the latest update.

Bought a compressor this morning. Picked it up in my Falcon Ute no problem. Stuff doesn't quite fit as easily in a Jag though..... Lol.

Driving home yesterday afternoon at about 2:25 down Double Jump Road ( a Redlands country type road ) doing 80 in the wet behind a small "box truck". Notice that the small hatchback in front of the truck is indicating right to pull into his drive.

I back off, box truck doesn't notice and is heading straight for small hatchback.

Box truck notices at last second, slams on the brakes, goes left, hits grass, tries to correct.....boom smacks into the power line sideways and ends up on his side down a three metre ditch.

Many helpers and he climbs out looking ok.

He's then talking to someone on the phone as I call the cops.

He seemed totally fine but it was quite a stack and I imagine after the adrenaline wore off he would be damn sore. Lots of other cars n utes pull up. I tell the cops I'm bailing as I'm in a precarious spot. One car came flying by at full speed.

Cops are supposed to be calling me back.

Well I'll remember that for a wee while.

They all look a bit similar, but still, there's some pleasant pics there.

I adore these creatures but having observed them outside my home for over two years I have come to the realisation that they're quite silly.

I just moved out of the house where these were taken from. Nice memory.

My phone just made this collage. Nice memories as I just moved out of that house.

I hope this is OK to post here. I had previously broken my mower due to hitting a septic vent, the piston blew through the top of the engine, oops. Consequently I had let the grass get a bit long and as a result I "collected" many seeds while fixing it all up. Watched a movie last night and did this chore at the same time. Just not fun at all.
