I'd like to note, the community was a politics board on lemmy.ml. You could breathe the wrong way and they'd ban you over there.
Yeah they banned me but kept up the comment talking about how democrats would dismember every Gaza baby to keep the Ukraine war going

Who is people? I feel like that word is doing a lot of work while in reality, noone cares. At least not anyone that van make a difference.
Yeah, you and I are outraged about it but do you think trump cares? So far there have been hundreds of protesters, sometimes even thousands, whoooohhh, cheeto must be shaking on his fat ass. Quite a few of them were angry cat ladies doing weird dances, and I remember seeing a woman having difficulty trying to say "fuck trump" in public... Yeah, these people surely will make a difference now!
Wake me up when a million protesters in each and every of the major cities in the entire country paralyze the country for a week or so. Wake me up when Democrats organize something that will completely gridlock the US government until Cheeto steps down or something

You're missing the point that none of "some people made sad face" is going to change anything and I am just flabbergasted that nobody is doing something that will actually enact change. Singing won't change shit, writing on Lemmy won't change shit and in case you ask me what I'm doing, I'm not an American, thankfully.
Americans have to fix this, but before anything, they have to want to change something and from the looks of it, not more than a fraction of a percent want change, and that fraction is for a good part crazies that go singing and dancing, thinking they can enact change that way.

To add, if you didn't know that, Zelensky and Putin are both Vovas, but the start of their names are spelled a bit different, Volodymyr vs Vladimir, volo vs vla, following ukrainian and russian takes at the same root name. The thing that doesn't make sense tho is that the end of their names, dymyr\dimir is spelled exactly the same, and is not a marker of dialects, but rather Putin having an old soviet-like transliteration of a slavic name while Zelensky has a more modern one that follows the actual way it's spelled. A probable reason for why the old version is like that is that russian and ukrainian have their У sounding very different to English Y, like 'ugh', and using 'I' avoided such association. I'm not a linguist at all, so take it with a grain of salt.
