But I had literally just been arguing about how this actually matters with other people on lemmy. Some people absolutely will not agree on saving Ukrainian lives, so when I saw it on another post I expressed how it was just nice to see someone else write about it.

The people (and mainly the private companies) of an allied country redused to help America. Only under threat from the Norwegian government did the US ships get fuel. Sounds like a loss of power to me
