Patient Gamers
A gaming community free from the hype and oversaturation of current releases, catering to gamers who wait at least 12 months after release to play a game. Whether it's price, waiting for bugs/issues to be patched, DLC to be released, don't meet the system requirements, or just haven't had the time to keep up with the latest releases.

When it’s 3am and you aren’t certain if the head started to turn or not…
Either the login menu of vanilla wow or the intro in jedi academy.
In the past it was Link to the past character select screen music. Today Satisfactory start up menu music that game must generate a time dilatation field. I swear I only play for 10 mins then it's 5am and I have to go to work.
Baba Yetu, the intro music from Civilization 4
Ah, just one more turn.
Okay one more turn.
One last tu.... Fuck the suns up.
But.. just one more turn
HOMM III
PS1 intro screen. Mainly because my PS1 sucked since it was second hand and I had to restart it a lot.
Kids these days will never know the relief of hearing the swooshing sound when you finally see the Playstation logo after praying for a disk to read
God, yes. Keeping your fingers crossed the whole time.
That was me and Jak 3 on PS2. It was a copy a friend had let me keep because I kept playing it all the time at their house. It was scratched a bit so every often it just wouldn't start.
Rimworld loading add-ons and then a wall of red text.
None. I can't be the only one who has never done that.
I've done that before but I wouldn't associate a game intro with staying up late playing a game, cuz I'd already be hours and hours past the intro.
Same. The only time I've ever stayed up past sunrise was when I was trying to finish a game storyline. And by that time the intro was long past. I would never associate a game intro with staying up late.
Never stayed up past sunrise playing games? Really?
At night I sleep
barony!
my friends and i were just getting into the game and we didn't know how long a good run could go.
for the uninitiated, barony is a coop roguelite that is very difficult especially in the early game, so all our runs had died relatively quickly. we had no clue that a winning run could take over 3 hours... so we celebrated our victory in the morning sunlight.
The red Valve picture and 'Dang!' sound at the start of CS 1.6
The chunky, thundering sound of the ID logo smashing into the screen when starting up Quake 3 Arena. So many LAN parties...
Nice, I just heard it in my head, thanks!
The Wild Arms opening music and scene always does this for me. I've been replaying it on a CRT and it holds up decently well.
The explosions in that game were so cool
FF Tactics. But the OG Twisted Metal was the first haha
The Rare developer screen for sure
They had so many great games. Which one is the one you think of most?
I'd say either DK64 or Diddy Kong Racing
Zelda OOT, or vanilla WoW. Hearing the intro music from either is a pretty strong nostalgia hit.
Perfect dark for the n64
Bro omg Kirby super star was the shit when I was a kid. I played the remake for DS and I played the shit outta that game. So many nights laying in bed playing that game all night
Doom and Doom 2 MIDI's. Playing these games at night just feels right. And also, the intro and soundtracks of Unreal Tournament '99. Absolute late night vibes.
