That's the right flag. Gotta make it clear this is the Orange turd attacking American citizens.

[–] [email protected] 18 points 1 day ago (1 children)

That's actually bad ass. Most of the time I see american flags, I think that's some bootlicker shit. But man an American flag while getting teargassed by the same people who vowed to protect their citizens, there's something powerful about that message.

[–] [email protected] 0 points 1 day ago

And imagine the symbol of that very flag being waved this coming 4th of July. They better saw o large one together and have everyone come and touch it or see it or recognize it somehow. I have a feeling that if it survives this, it will go to a museum. I'm sure the flag from the iconic image of the motorcycle guy with the Mexican flag too will get to be in a museum. But that's not our flag and it sends the wrong message. They are attacking Mexicans for sure but mostly Americans. The American flag should fly to remind the soldiers doing the attacking who they are attacking. Americans don't take well being attacked.

Seems like many MAGAts were mad at LA due to the non-American flags being shown. There were some.. but not as much as the media (or individuals videos) was showing.

[–] [email protected] 126 points 2 days ago (1 children)

In Austin, police were forced to use pepper spray and tear gas...

i'm sorry, who is forcing the police to do this? it seems like they are willingly doing this, not being forced.

[–] [email protected] 52 points 2 days ago (1 children)

They wanted to play with their military grade toys, and live targets got them salivating like the predators they are.

So you see, “forced”.

[–] [email protected] 6 points 1 day ago

Woah, inflammatory language! Not all of them are "predators"! Some of them are fascists, or racists, or bullies, or spouse-beaters, or cowards, or...

I believe this is turning into what Trump wanted to occur during the George Floyd protests.

The instigators breaking shit were trying to start a riot to give him pretext to federalize the National Guard.

Only, nobody bought into it.

Instead, this time, he's taking smaller protests and escalating them by using military intimidation, which, as the regime hoped, infuriated large swaths of Americans. Once these continue to grow, instigators will become present. It takes one, hidden somewhere, to shoot an agent or guardsman, and shit flys off the walls.

Unfortunately, the path forward is bleak. Protests must continue. And they must grow. People dying is out of the question at this point.

The regime is betting that a few instances of massacres will give him enough power to quell 358,000,000 Americans into accepting a totalitarian regime. Every dictator in modern history has done this in one way, shape, or form.

I keep saying this but it falls on deaf ears. A resistance must not resist in a theater of the Regime's choosing. It won't work.

Blue states have a powerful weapon at their disposal. They need not instruct citizens to withold federal taxes. They need to instruct employers and self employed to cease all federal witholding. If they fail to do so, cut off the resources an employer needs. When tax season comes around, how many Americans will willingly pay the 12-35% of their income they now owe? None. The federal government now has lost significant portions of revenue. Americans won't work without pay. Not for long.

The time for the most powerful form of warfare has arrived. Economic warfare.

[–] [email protected] 28 points 2 days ago

They have already taken the powers of dictatorship. They skipped over the Reichstag Fire completely, and simply pretended that non-emergencies were emergencies. "They're eating the cats and dogs."

The authority and power of the Executive Branch has increased by orders of magnitude in a matter of months simply by virtue of nobody standing in its way.

The nation is under attack. This isn't a power grab, it's an assault on freedom. Resist.

[–] [email protected] 16 points 2 days ago

Their plan was to try to force a dictatorship no matter what.

Try to think about what actions would stop the rise of Nazi Germany.

There were a lot of peacefully protesting that was ignored as the Nazis rose to power anyway.

[–] [email protected] 15 points 2 days ago

At the end of the day the Democrats choose to be complicit. Fascists never rise to power because they have enough power by themselves, but because they have enablers among the "center".

A little bit ago it flew under the radar that he put into place that he could raise a militia if there was a revolution. Can't remember the act, not an American citizen.

But around then it was said that he would start this and it could happen around April.

The thing is that the act has some funky wording and the militia need not be the national guard, and he can mobilize MAGA to act as the militia.

So that's probably the next step.

[–] [email protected] 5 points 1 day ago (1 children)

Or the Proud Boys. They're suing the government for prosecution of Jan 6th, $100m I think. Paid triple+ as a "settlement" with an agreement to deploy and do taco's dirty work. There's your militia.

[–] [email protected] 4 points 1 day ago

They gave like $100k to the traitor Ashli Babbitt’s family too. Probably more than the family of a soldier who dies in service gets.

A militia with death benefits.

[–] [email protected] 139 points 2 days ago (2 children)

People say it's hard to protest because America is so spread out.

It also means that when the Fed tries to crack down on protests, there's too much ground for them to be everywhere at once.

They can't handle one city, if they try and deploy all over it'll be an even bigger cluster fuck, and make the military even more fed up with trump.

[–] [email protected] 85 points 2 days ago (23 children)

If the Feds are willing to illegally federalize National Guard troops, and the National Guard in any given state is willing to obey those orders, it tips the scales significantly. States need to start taking measures to ensure their National Guard is truly under their control. These are the "well regulated militias" referenced in the second amendment, and if they are subject to the whims of a federal tyrant, then the second amendment is moot.

[–] WoodScientist 29 points 2 days ago

The problem is Democrats are cowards. Newsom has so many options he's not even trying to use. For example, he could give his own contradicting orders to the California National Guard troops. After all, those would be the only legal orders given to the Guard. Trump is flagrantly violating the law here. If that didn't work, he could announce that he's putting any Guard troop deployed by Trump on immediate leave. They're now on vacation and can walk off base at will. If that doesn't work, he could defund the troops involved. You're not getting paid for your time following illegal orders.

Instead, Democrats are cowards, so they make tired cringe jokes about Tacos.

[–] GrumpyDuckling 8 points 2 days ago

Those people are bring pulled away from their families and lives because Trump wants to have a pissing contest. Some of them will blame the protesters though, so it's hard to say.

This is a very good, and heartening point.

[–] [email protected] 113 points 2 days ago (4 children)

We're not far away from nationwide protests. Grab your Sharpies and make some signs.

[–] [email protected] 78 points 2 days ago (1 children)

In fact, they're already planned for this weekend. See the map below for the one closest to you:

[–] [email protected] 5 points 2 days ago (1 children)

Had a sales call with a big client in Chicago. They were all told to wfh and not come into city bc protests. Minor disruption but that's lost revenue to Chicago transit, food vendors, etc, plus the tax revenues. Bad example bc most outspoken mayor in America but you get the point.

[–] [email protected] 4 points 2 days ago

[–] [email protected] 8 points 1 day ago

[–] [email protected] 45 points 2 days ago

This is good news. We can't call ourselves a moral country with these masked ICE thugs going around kidnapping with impunity.

[–] [email protected] 18 points 2 days ago

Fresno as well. Only a small amount of news picked it up, but there was a huge amount of people out.

Im seeing a lot of local cities doing the same.

[–] [email protected] 37 points 2 days ago (2 children)

Good, maybe these asshats will see that they're not welcome and go the fuck home.

[–] [email protected] 21 points 2 days ago

Letting them go home is why they keep coming back.

Until we have the will to hold these fascist traitors accountable, this will be a recurring problem.

[–] atzanteol 13 points 2 days ago

Oh you sweet summer child...

[–] [email protected] 17 points 2 days ago (1 children)

Where's that guy who was like "I don't see any American flags at these protests" in complaint about the Mexican flags at the LA protests

[–] [email protected] 3 points 1 day ago

Looking the other way so he doesn't see any American flags.
