The horse probably couldn't handle the weight of the cow. Both animals might get pissed at you for trying to coax them into this.

i think the horse could handle my weight just fine. i'm not that heavy.

It is but you want no part of it.

Would be even more surprising considering it's a female cow, what would it be called though? A how? A corse?

There are drivers for USB products written in JavaScript. Like the calibration tool for the PS5 controller and iirc a driver for a mini disk player

[–] [email protected] 2 points 4 days ago (1 children)

Is that the driver or just the configuration interface in Javascript?

I would suspect that the actual driver is written in C.

[–] weker01 2 points 4 days ago* (last edited 4 days ago)

Nope, the driver through the use of the web USB API and/or the WebHID api. Of course it depends on how you define driver but I think they have a very good claim to be drivers.

There are operating systems written in Javascript

[–] [email protected] 1 points 4 days ago (1 children)

sounds interesting. like the kernel and everything? hows it called?

[–] [email protected] 1 points 4 days ago

Well there's several. If you do a Google search some github repos should come up

The issue is when you turn off java, half of a website won't work.

*Javascript (Java is a different language altogether).

Side thought; you just reminded me of the days when websites were running Java applets or Shockwave all over the place. shudders

edit: I just saw what community this is…

Followed by a short period of separation of content and layout that was ended by returning to the stone age of client-specific Javascript. Another example of "why we can't have good things".

Yo I miss all the great in-browser shockwave games
