I'm conflicted because I think they are p good value for the quality and taste. They are the old Tim Hortons

[–] [email protected] 5 points 1 week ago (1 children)

good value??? how is 3€ good value?????

[–] [email protected] 4 points 1 week ago* (last edited 1 week ago) (2 children)

Oh. During the summer iced coffees are are $1 any size. Right now (in Canada) they are $1 for a hot, small coffee which isn't too bad.

Edit: also it's $1 CAD which is like 0.6 pounds.

[–] [email protected] 3 points 1 week ago (1 children)

why do you guys have normal prices ???? why is our coffe 3x as expensive???

[–] tja 2 points 1 week ago

That's some heavy money. I guess you all wear suspenders?

[–] [email protected] 52 points 1 week ago

No problem!

McDonalds isn't out there killing anyone or telling people their loved ones have to die because they cost too much. Their CEO has nothing to worry about.

It's like a drug dealer or liquor store, they are just providing the means for you to harm yourself.

[–] [email protected] 38 points 1 week ago* (last edited 1 week ago) (1 children)

The McDonald's execs aren't anywhere near as bad. But they ain't innocent either. They're perfectly happy to pay poverty/starvation wages. They're perfectly fine with class war.

[–] [email protected] 19 points 1 week ago (2 children)

I know. They are responsible for a massive amount of climate damage alone, completely disregarding how they treat employees. I'm just saying that on any potential list of targets, they are going to be waaaaaaaaaaaay down the list.

I mean, Nestle, Meta, Monsanto, and Amazon still exist.

[–] [email protected] 7 points 1 week ago* (last edited 1 week ago)

They're definitely lower down on the list, but execs still need to live somewhere, and a good chunk of them live nearby other people to some degree, which can make them a convenient target for those that live nearby.

If your neighbor* was an exec for McDonald's, you saw them for the evil that they are, and you had a terminal illness or suicidal ideation, you'd probably give your local exec a thought or too, even if there are bigger fish to fry.

* using neighbor in a very loose sense here because of how they like to live in their own little gated communities

Don’t forget shell and all the ones that have making climate change way worse.

I’m okay with shitty Facebook; ruining the planet for all current and future life, imo that’s up there with the insurance companies.

How about better wages and benefits instead so you can afford more than food.

Wii is a home video game console developed and marketed by Nintendo. It was released on November 19, 2006, in North America, and in December 2006 for most other regions of the world. It is Nintendo's fifth major home game console

A wrap that is just enough food to keep you from being hungry but not enough to make you full.

[–] [email protected] 3 points 1 week ago* (last edited 1 week ago) (2 children)

Isn't a wrap something, I'd put around food?

I'm sorry, I've never heard of that and haven't cared too search for it... So, yeah, maybe my fault

But still, why should I name a food-something after a food-wrapping?
I obviously just don't really get it

I think, it's time for me, to start up DDG now

Edit: oooh, it's not just about the wrap of the snack, as the name would tell you
It's just a fucking wrap of whatever food

So for at least some people in Europe, a Dürüm would be such a wrap.
Which is fucking delicious.
So, ok, I'm all for the wrap snack now.
Although I don't get, why they don't specify what's in it - but maybe there were options I don't know about

Edit 2: sorry for everyone but speaking German, I haven't found a wiki page for Dürüms in English :-\

[–] [email protected] 6 points 1 week ago (1 children)

Sorry I was being facetious. A “snack wrap” is the name of the food at McDonald’s. Similar to Big Mac is the name of the burger. It’s just branding.

There are multiple types of snack wraps and usually the type comes before the name. For example chicken snack wrap.

[–] [email protected] 2 points 1 week ago* (last edited 1 week ago)

All good, wasn't even taking that in bad faith

After ducking it, I saw what it meant.
And it should have been quite obvious to me anyway, as we call them just wraps here.
I was just confused about the 'snack' part, because a wrap here counts as a whole meal, like a burger, and not just a snack, which you'd do on the side or in-between meals.

But really thanks for clarifying, I really appreciate it :-)
And I do hope my answer doesn't/didn't came around wrong

Edit: to maybe clarify, a snack would mean something like something I'll take in a bite or two.
But those are just culture differences, so either your wraps are just smaller to fit the definition of snacks, or we just have a bit of cultural difference here.
From my side, no hard feelings, and I just read interested, if I'm missing out on something

[–] [email protected] 2 points 1 week ago

What’s ironic is this is the stuff they should be doing to be a good business.

It’s like evil today has to go out of its way to not help anyone. I miss classic evil where they took pride in their products.

[–] [email protected] 3 points 1 week ago

My wife is so excited for the snack wrap to come back.

As if ... billionaire and millionaire CEOs will just lock themselves away. We'll probably start seeing security locked down city areas or exclusive zones where only security cleared people will be allowed in certain areas. Everyone else will not be allowed in.

They're going to start building the Emerald City and we aren't invited.

[–] [email protected] 3 points 1 week ago (1 children)

Wouldn't that mean they are locked away in Emerald City?

[–] [email protected] 1 points 1 week ago

Hopefully with Schillinger.

[–] [email protected] 2 points 1 week ago

Gosh I hope so, we can all form a circle, hold hands, and burn the whole place down while the rats are trapped.

[–] [email protected] 2 points 1 week ago

That would be so cute. It would be self sufficient too right? Or else can you imagine the amount of access licenses they would need to hand out for all the cleaning, cooking and butlering going on?

Btw would they shop for clothes inside or outside? Silly me, obviously inside. Print more licenses.

[–] [email protected] 2 points 1 week ago

I thought they got rid of it because all the tainted lettuce getting people sick?
