In einer Wahlsendung der ARD hat Christian Lindner angekündigt, er wolle sich aus der Politik zurückziehen, falls seine Partei den Einzug in den Bundestag verpassen sollte.
„Ich bin Realist“, sagte er. Es sei natürlich denkbar, dass sich die FDP ab morgen politisch und personell neu aufstellen müsse. „Wenn die FDP aus dem Bundestag ausscheidet, ist es völlig klar, dass ich dann auch aus der Politik ausscheide.“
Fast 25 Jahre lang hätten ihn Menschen gewählt. Falls morgen seine politische Laufbahn ende, gehe er mit großer Dankbarkeit, sagte Lindner sichtlich emotional berührt. (kko)
