This is Huckabee's solution to the labor shortage:

Look at these happy children spending way more time playing with the Earth than what that dastardly Tim Walz would have them be doing. Learning? Yuck.

Minecraft has been popular with kids for over a decade. The children yearn for the mines.

[–] [email protected] 2 points 1 month ago

Moria...You fear to go into those mines. The dwarves delved too greedily and too deep. You know what they awoke in the darkness of Khazad-dum...shadow and flame.

Democrats just want a weak economy and weak career growth for their kids. If child miners were offered tax deferred retirement savings accounts, which they won't be, and if they could afford to defer which of course they can't, just think of the potential gains they could have over 3-4 decades until they collapse of pneumoniultramicroscopicsilicovolcanconeosis!?! They of course won't live in a society that allows retirement so it's just a mental exercise but man, fun to think about hypothetical gains for child laborers!

The children yearn for the mines!

[–] [email protected] 6 points 1 month ago (1 children)

The context here is that they are a bunch of the actors in the film Newsies, they are taking a short break before launching into another impromptu musical number.

[–] [email protected] 7 points 1 month ago (1 children)

That would be really nice if it was. Sadly this was in 1911 in Pennsylvania. These are "Breaker Boys". Their job is to take the the mined rock and separate coal from chunks of rock. source

[–] [email protected] 3 points 1 month ago (1 children)

I was joking. I figured it was some coal mine job

[–] [email protected] 4 points 1 month ago

I know you were, and it was a good joke :)

I met Tim Walz at a party one time and he asked me what I was studying, when I told him he said "you're gonna do great sport." BUT MY NAME ISN'T SPORT TIM

Clearly demented! Unfit for office!

[–] [email protected] 69 points 1 month ago

Children yearn for the mines as it reminds them of the uterus.

Huckabee is definitely the better person here.

It's disturbing to me that Harris is openly inviting this kind of misogyny into her cabinet, where women are relegated to the kitchen and men take all the credit. A vote for Trump is a vote for women in the same roles as men, like lawyers, entrepreneurs, hunters, scientists, and leaders.

Love how controversial your comment is - to not read it at face value (and downvote) requires clicking on one of your links, but the modern web is so enshittified that half the voters are doing just that.

personally i came here from browsing all and was not aware of the community’s tongue in cheek nature, which takes some browsing to actually figure out. i assume that’s what’s happening here.

[–] [email protected] 17 points 1 month ago

Yeah, it's a new community. Very tongue in cheek for sure

[–] [email protected] 6 points 1 month ago

Interestingly, the only reason I was curious was because it was upvoted

[–] [email protected] 5 points 1 month ago

I think you might be before your time buds.

[–] [email protected] 4 points 1 month ago

I knew what hunter was going to be before I got there.

What an alpha female.

[–] [email protected] 47 points 1 month ago (1 children)

You people don't get it. There's an obesity epidemic. Tim Walz is making our kids fat by giving them food and Sarah is giving them exercise by forcing them to work in the mines!

[–] [email protected] 23 points 1 month ago* (last edited 1 month ago) (1 children)

Is this thread satire? I'm confused. Help me. Edit: nvm lol

[–] [email protected] 5 points 1 month ago

I'm drunk and high I'm sure it's satire but I can't tell. I saw a comment that look authentic and comments that look like jokes

[–] [email protected] 18 points 1 month ago (3 children)

Where’s the source that the lunch lady did it for free?

[–] [email protected] 14 points 1 month ago (1 children)

Good question!

How deep to the depraved lies go?!

[–] [email protected] 4 points 1 month ago (1 children)

It goes both ways

if she was paid to make those lunches and then those lunches were given free then it makes your post bullshit.

If she was not paid and she made them then calling him out is fair

However, you just post a picture which does nothing to help substantiate your claim and you expect anyone to take you seriously?

[–] [email protected] 6 points 1 month ago

it makes your post bullshit.

How dare you?!

you expect anyone to take you seriously?

😱😱😱

This comment makes me very butt-hurt

[–] [email protected] 11 points 1 month ago (1 children)

Tim Walz bribes lunch-ladies to make kids free food.

[–] [email protected] 10 points 1 month ago* (last edited 1 month ago)

Paying them off to look the other way when the kids don't pay their food tax. 🙄 Another day, another corrupt politician.

[–] [email protected] 1 points 1 month ago (1 children)

If Tim Walz made her do it for free, that's awful. She deserves to be paid for her time.

[–] [email protected] 1 points 1 month ago

And thats the problem with this post, theres nothing of substance to change that if into certainty

[–] [email protected] 8 points 1 month ago (1 children)

Welp, hand me my pickaxe and lantern. Back to the mines

[–] [email protected] 3 points 1 month ago (1 children)

I read this as "Welp, hand me my PICKLES and lantern."

I do not know why, but now that is all I see.

[–] [email protected] 3 points 1 month ago (1 children)
[–] [email protected] 1 points 1 month ago

Funniest shit I've ever seen.

[–] [email protected] 8 points 1 month ago

Justice for the the lunch lady.

[–] [email protected] 7 points 1 month ago

What a monster he is. The deeps state is sending us their worst, man.

[–] [email protected] 6 points 1 month ago (2 children)

Didn't the child labour law picture turn out to be the wrong picture?

[–] [email protected] 9 points 1 month ago

Probably! Everything connected to this guy turns out to be a lie!

[–] [email protected] 2 points 1 month ago* (last edited 1 month ago)

Yeah, that specific picture was from the signing of the Arkansas LEARNS act (which has plenty of it's own problems) but it fits the joke so well that I'll allow it ;)

[–] [email protected] 5 points 1 month ago

bOtH SIdEs aRe tHe sAmE!!!

[–] [email protected] 3 points 1 month ago

LOCK HIM UP!

[–] [email protected] 1 points 1 month ago

Tim Walz is weird and definitely not representative of the Democrats as a party.

He doesn't even own a home or securities.

Hell, if Democrats did their job when we gave them power school lunch debt wouldn't exist.
