I'm very confident that with carte blanche the electrical engineers already overseeing the grid could solve the problems it faces. We don't need an ai miracle, we need to remove bureaucratic and funding obstacles for critical infrastructure.

If you look at the paper they promoted the beneficial bacteria by feeding two specific prebiotics. Both of those compounds occur in reasonably high concentrations in carrots.

So you could try the unapproved treatment yourself eating carrots regularly.

Mass still costs energy to move around. Spacewalks already sound pretty strenuous. Adding any additional exertion seems like it would need a really good benefit to be worth the tradeoff.

The bit about powdered sumac (bark?) being a powerful dye for marble is pretty interesting. I wish there was an example photo.

In addition to autopilot, make frequent and habitual use of the match speed button. It makes manual maneuvers and landings so much easier.

That's only true for areas of land that aren't visibly occupied. Entering any building without permission is considered first degree trespassing in my state, and I don't think that's a unique definition. Traversing the land near a dwelling is considered second degree trespass.

The title is somewhat misleading. The article contents repeatedly state that Obama is intently avoiding looking like he's trying to influence Biden's decision.

Sautéed radishes are a good addition to an egg and cheese on everything bagel sandwich.

What extra logistics? Passenger birth dates are recorded at time of booking and with the exception of southwest, seats are assigned ahead of time. It would be trivial for the booking software to limit where certain age groups can be assigned. Most airlines already allow passengers with infants to board before everyone else so there's time to deal with carseats/strollers.

Every airline already excludes young children from exit row seats, so clearly the logistics involved are already solved.

I'm not necessarily advocating for that policy, but I fail to see how it would be difficult to enact. The resulting discrimination lawsuits would probably be the most onerous part.
