Talking to a friend this week who works for Cabelas/Bass Pro. Worked their asses off since this is their season, hunting then gifts, inclusive of OT whether you want it or not, pretty much until after Christmas.

There’s a movement quota. They met double that. Post day debrief with boss, they’re like what do we get for that apart from this praise you have for us?

Nothing. They get nothing.

.

It’s not quiet quitting, it’s just doing your job, as is, as agreed, nothing more, nothing less. Meet the quota as required and go home. Because working extra hard gets you nothing.

Oooo, that should be a tshirt. That can be embroidered with a company logo.

Then they raise the quota...

While also cheap, technically, all of these should be relevant to us since they present a very healthy and balanced diet. Legumes are the shit. Obligatory fuck billionaires though

Also good for the environment, mostly the not eating meat part. Especially if you buy them dried in bulk you can cut down on your food and packaging waste. Even the lack of fruits and vegetables is good for not drying up California, probably not good for your long term health though. Also fuck billionaires

that electric pressure cooker device really upped my dried legume game. I have the smoothest hummus on the block

My GF doesnt like beans, or i'd eat a lot more of them

[–] [email protected] 7 points 1 day ago (1 children)

Sorry to hear about your breakup

[–] [email protected] 4 points 1 day ago

Better than a Union: Worker cooperative or market syndicate.

[–] [email protected] 6 points 1 day ago

Yes, but I do like me brown rice and beans. Gotta get my fiber in.

Also true if you can afford to eat normal food.

Also true if you're a millionaire in the United States. That's barely enough for a middle class couple to retire on and woe be to you when the medical issues start.

Fuck the greedy bastards.

I have happy dreams of big tech billionaries being sent out into space, one way trip. Bye.

Those fuckers don't create jobs, they create slavery.

That's so expensive when we have a plethora of rivers, lakes, and ocean right here. And lots of concrete.

Yeah I know, I was just thinking the planet could have a nice ceremony and unite together, while celebrating sending the trash into space. :)

Then again, this is mostly a luxary, western world problem. Some people don't have food which is... Worse.

Our water is polluted enough as it is. I will always advocate for yeeting the rich....into volcanoes.

[–] [email protected] 3 points 1 day ago (1 children)

Since they seem to be convinced that they can walk on water, throw them into an active volcano and see how long they last.

[–] [email protected] 4 points 1 day ago

I don’t know how much water is in an active volcano but I still endorse this experiment.

Hard disagree: The above advice is relevant to everyone, even if you're not struggling to survive. We are all victims of capitalism, and even those of us who are living relatively comfortably under this system need to recognize that the billionaire class are the enemy of all life on Earth. It's not a good system for you just because you get the best table scraps.

If you stop caring about those who are barely scraping by just because you're not then you're a fucking idiot.

I almost put "If you can't read this, have a friend read it to you" but it seemed a bit wordy

[–] Voroxpete 5 points 1 day ago

That's more like it. And doubly so if you can't read it.

The above advice is relevant to everyone, even if you're not struggling to survive.

Yes, that was indeed the point, I think.

How does one deal with the carbohydrate-explosion on a diet whose sole protein source is legumes?

Crickets

[–] [email protected] 3 points 1 day ago
