Derek Chauvin was stabbed in prison 22 times by a former gang leader and one-time FBI informant who told investigators he targeted the ex-Minneapolis police officer because of his notoriety for killing George Floyd, federal prosecutors said Friday.

John Turscak was charged with attempted murder a week after the Nov. 24 attack at the Federal Correctional Institution in Tucson, Arizona. He told correctional officers he would have killed Chauvin had they not responded so quickly, prosecutors said.

Turscak, who is serving a 30-year sentence for crimes committed while a member of the Mexican Mafia prison gang, told investigators he thought about attacking Chauvin for a month because he is a high-profile inmate but denied wanting to kill him, prosecutors said.

Okay, okay, okay, don't worry, I've been well-trained to know what to do here: we send Mr. Turscak on a paid vacation from prison while his Mexican Mafia gangmates investigate him for any wrongdoing.

Truly, a criminal mastermind at work.

He probably didn't give a shit either way, but nobody showed up to stop him and he was already stabbing so... Might as well keep going eh?

Okay, let's not jump the gun, we don't have all the context here.

The inmate has a family to go home to, they're also human.

Don't try to fight the inmate, just comply, you can fight them in court.

I've heard Chauvin was on drugs, and the stab wounds were a pre-existing condition.

10 to 1 this guy is swimming in ramen and mackerel right now. Everyone in the prison and elsewhere sending him kudos and commissary moneys.

Guy clearly needs to work on his stabbing technique.

That must have been some punk-ass "improvised knife" to stab a guy 22 times and he's not gonna die.

It seems Turscak wants the notoriety, perhaps to make other prisoners think twice about killing him for being an FBI informant?

But you can't find his picture online, only that poor dead guy whose obituary was on the same page.

What a Fail.

That, or Chauvin just got on his nerves- chauvin is an asshole. These incidental stabbing are- unfortunately- inevitable.

You think they were trying to kill him? Lol I'm thinking this dude bet a pack of smokes he could get him at least 25 times and missed the spread.

This is the guy that shanked him, and you just KNOW Chavin wasn’t on the lookout for a guy who looks like this.

[–] [email protected] 3 points 9 months ago

That’s a picture of Chauvin himself lol
