Oooh! Which Scotsman will they get to play a Spaniard?

David Tennant or we riot.
It's an all Cavill cast, like Eddie Murphy
Cavill plays Eddie Murphy?
Hopefully the blackface will be tasteful
I don’t know how they’ll work a fart scene into Highlander.
We can cast only one.
No true one
What band should do the soundtrack for this version?
Every buttrock group that had a hit between 2001-2005.
Not jokingly, I'd like a reznor soundtrack for this. I think he'd nail the tone.
Every buttrock group that had a hit between 2001-2005
Hoobastank soundtrack with special guests Puddle of Mud, Buckcherry, and 3 Days Grace
It better still use the original Queen theme song!
Yeah that song is epic. I hope they keep it or just go an entirely different route. I've got zero interest in a updated cover.
Now I'm scared they'll do one of those slowed down covers with a singer who is all whispery and breathy
I'm interested. It's certainly been long enough for a reboot.
We know Cavill is good at sword stuff. But, if they're doing a remake, they should really do a remake of the TV series instead. Or, at least do a movie remake that leaves the door open for future things the way the TV series did. Cavill also matches the good looking and cool Duncan MacLeod better than the dopey looking Connor MacLeod.
Highlander has such a rich vein of ideas to mine, as shown in the TV show.
First of all, you have immortals passing as normal humans, who have been around for centuries, and experienced important historic events first-hand. That just gives you cool opportunities to retell those interesting stories. It also lets you make them rich easily by just having them deal in antiques.
Then, there's the idea that they don't know they're immortal until they "die", and then suddenly they're in a contest they don't understand that involves battles to the death. The only way to really understand what they are is to meet another immortal, but there's always the issue of trust.
There's also the idea (from the TV series) of secret societies tracking the immortals. Some secret society people could even want to stop / kill the immortals, while others might want to protect them.
Done right, you could even open the door to all kinds of different immortal heroes, like Bond actors or Dr. Who leads. You could have a villain take the head of the old main immortal, then have an ally of the old main immortal kill that villain and become the new main immortal (taking on some of the personality of the original through the quickening process).
Unless they're also pulling in the TV series theme?
Does it even need to be a reboot? It shouldn't be a franchise unless you're going to change a lot away from the original story, but then you might as well just have people be immortals living multiple lifetimes in an original setting.
It definitely needs a reboot. It tried to watch it recently. It is no where near as good as I remember.
Sometimes cheesy is classic. Not so much here.
Adrian Paul cameo, please.
