Thanks as you can tell, I’m not an expert in any of this.

I will run this as you described.

I did the nmap based on input from ChatGPT, it had me do a Ping base scan with nmap. It turned up nothing because that IP address did not return a Ping.

This has me really curious.

I’m concerned that the website I opened in Safari on my phone is bringing up a cache on my browser and is not actually live.

I tried to open it from an iPad and it did not load. Iit still loads off my phone even though I have rebooted everything.

Thanks! I did not know DHCP allocation was optional on a home network.

Great Idea! My windows box is off and I can still see it from my phone.

The only windows box on my network is my company laptop. It is on a different IP address than that one.

It IS in my normal range, but it is NOT listed on my Router’s DHCP client list.

You will be forced to have a mark on your wrist or forehead or you will not be allowed to buy or sell anything.

The best history of this is “the bomber mafia” by Malcolm Gladwell.

He really tells the whole complex story.

[–] [email protected] 4 points 1 day ago

That was true through the Obama administration.

I don’t know what is going on now.

Well they are taking something owned by a foreign company - i.e. owned by people who are not Americans - and creating a system that will help Americans.

I wish NOAA or NASA invented it, then we would have it now. But, in this case, private investment happened to be fastest.

Wishing is not much of a plan.

The actual alternative available to the US Government that would have prevented this angry response would have been to not even try to adapt this private technology.

Would that have been better?

This is actually the opposite of privatization. The government is using private technology that they will be able to make public in 5 years.

It is a troll. Musk is giving Lord Dampnut a shit ton of cash and support on shitter.

In return Mar-a-Lardo said he would put Musk in charge of the Department Of Government Efficiency.

It is a Dogecoin reference. Musk is being an edge lord.

Not saying that Cheeto Benito wouldn’t do it, but it is mostly just fun for Elon at the expense of the people who he is spinning up over it.

This place in town used to make a pizza called “the umami”.

It had pineapple, candied jalapeños, bacon, parmigiana, pesto swirls, and a little mozzarella on an olive oil base.

It was sooooo delicious

And White Tie is the top.

Happy cake day

I have been using Logitech peripherals for years. Logitech gear always just worked.

Now they demand internet accounts to use the features of the keyboard and mouse that I purchased. WTF?

Not only that, have to use wide-open-to-snooping Chrome to adjust the settings. You cannot adjust/use your mouse and keyboard if you just use Firefox.

This only makes sense if they are planning (or are already) tracking my every move online to sell to advertisers or spooks.

What are the good options?

Also, if anybody sees how these changes could be benign, please let me know.

EDIT:

By popular demand:

The keyboard I bought that started this journey: MX Keys S

The key feature that first demanded cloud access: Swithing between computers, now it is requires it to adjust the receivers. I have both a Bolt and a Unifying receiver.

Mouse (actually a trackball) that now is requesting that I use a Chrome Browser to adjust it: M570

Software:
The Logi SetPoint Settings I open from Windows now requires you to log into your Logitech account to make changes to your Unifying or 2.4 ghz usb receiver. This link takes you to a screen that says Logi Web Connect. It does not work unless you use the latest version of Chrome, Edge, & Opera, but reccomends Chrome for the best experience.

Logitech + used to require this to enable options, but I don’t see it on my Windows computer anymore. It is still on my Mac, but upon opening it to confirm for this message, it seems to be announcing that it is now able to incorporate AI into everything I type. (ugggh)

I am sorry, but I think this is a subscriber only podcast. Today when discussing the advancements of AI and Digital Twins, the expert said they are now “Streets Ahead”.

Specifically he said “Formula One manufacturers have some of the most advanced technology you can see. They are Streets Ahead of other manufacturers.

I thought this group may appreciate that.

Edit: the timestamp is 11:30 The name of the podcast is: Foiled Again, A Second Attempt on Trump

I am trying to shell out of VBA in excel and I keep getting permissions issues. So far I have tried:

Full Disk Access

Accessibility

Developer Rights

chmod

Quarantine

Shell function

AppleScriptTask function (with full disks access and Accessiblity, and Developer Rights)

All of the pieces work independently. I can call it from the command line and as an apple script from osascript

The MOST frustrating thing its that once I got the permissions correct on Apple Script, then the excel AppleScriptTask function stopped working. The command that used to work now throws an Error 13 Type Mismatch. I have double checked, triple checked and had Chat GPT write the code. There is not type mismatch - and it worked fine before I fixed the permissions on Apple Script.

PLEASE HELP!!!!!!!!
