Mah is a terrible unit for battery capacity, stop using it already.

"Oh we have 70% more battery, now we can spend less time optimizing apps for power usage"
How much does it weigh? I don't want to almost double the weight of my phone when I can fast charge in 15 minutes and I rarely ever need to do that.
S24U user.
I agree, but at least OnePlus does have proper fast charging and not the slow stuff that Samsung has, my S21 barely does 18W. It looks like the S24U is up to 45W, but it would be nice to see 100W charge rate in more phones.
I want to kill people with my phone. Make it 4 times heavier, and give it a hickory handle.
As someone who until recently had a Ulefone 27T pro with a 10600 mAh battery (that's not a typo) the weight gets real boring real fast. Mine weighed over half a kilo.
I still have it and I'll use it for camping and travel because it will go 5 days on idle without a charge but I bought a different phone for EDC
i have a phone with 21000 mAh, weighs half a kilo but o absolutely love it as i am bad at remembering to charge my phone at home/taking a charger/power bank with me
Since you're an existing Samsung user who is concerned about weight, what do you think about the new S25 Edge? Is a substantially thinner phone something that interests you?
Ehhh, it has less features than my current phone. I love my current phone and I'm not looking to change for awhile probably.
Seriously, I don’t find that upgrades to battery life are a net upgrade to usability if the size and weight of the phone becomes too large
planning thinness at all cost
It’s called real-life testing, for tech necessary for folding phones and tablets.
You need to make it thin enough so you can stack two of them in a way that it won’t be too thick for the user.
Folding phones are hardly a necessary advance. They're the next 3D TV.
They aren't a necessary advance but they are so sick and are at least mildly useful
I feel the same about it, but then again, this is how they justify the next miniaturization levels, and I believe this will help bring up a lot of potential, unforeseen tech in the next years
I’m glad someone is cranking up battery sizes. If the camera sticks out from the back, you have room. Too bad it’s not from a company with better customer service.
In my opinion, which is based on the OPX, OP6T, OP9, OP10 and many many devices I've used from other manufacturers, Oneplus does hardware very well. My latest phone was a Pixel 8 Pro so I could run Graphene and while I do not regret my choice, I do miss the Oneplus hardware, and most of all the 3-position slider switch. My OP6T is old as dirt now, but still exudes a higher quality feel than my Pixel when you hold it. To the point of the discussion: One Plus has amazing battery life and hardware versus competitors at the same price point.
im glad i bought the opr12r once my pixel 5a died from a small fall. I dint like samsung, or pixel phones because of thier obsessive dedication to AI.
As long as it ain't a stupid take on real flip phones, I'm all for it.
I like how they’re comparing a rumor to the last cycle of production devices and then extrapolating that to what direction everyone is going. I can’t believe I wasted the click on this.
What do u use? Apple? Samsung?
is that the reason you upset?
I’m not upset about it. It’s just a lame sensationalist article bending the facts over to get clicks. Happens day in and out.
Or you could have a normal phone and a phone-sized power bank in the other pocket and have balanced pants.
My 5Ah Sony 1 V is too big and heavy. The battery lasts a week in sparse use with /e/OS.
Same! My Sony Xperia 1 VI just never fricking dies LMAO
And that's already with my VPN app periodically prevents the phone from staying in low power state to maintain VPN connection (standard behavior of VPN apps on Android)
for reasons that aren’t entirely clear beyond aesthetics and bragging rights
Oh my sweet summer child.
