So, business as usual then?

[–] [email protected] 133 points 2 days ago (3 children)

Wow, I'm so shocked that an administration of thieves and grifters are helping other thieves and grifters.

[–] [email protected] 32 points 2 days ago (3 children)

I’m more surprised they didn’t try to corner the thieving and grifting market for their own.

So you're assuming that no one in Trump's circle made any trades in advance of yesterday's tariff pause cancellation? Do you know the exponential return you could get on a short-term option when the underlying investment moves 20% in a day?

[–] [email protected] 3 points 2 days ago

They do

But as it needs to go into their private pocket, they manipulate the market and already spare regulations, so they have a free go and cash in

Wouldn't help them, when the nation gets the many due to sane profit taxing and fraud investigations

[–] [email protected] 13 points 2 days ago

To a certain extent, honor among thieves typically only exists within their own group.

The administration is setting things up so their grifters won't get charged.

If someone grifted them, the FBI would absolutely investigate them.

Welcome to capitalism. Always has been.

[–] [email protected] 52 points 2 days ago

If I recall correctly the Trump family has just gotten involved with a crypto exchange so.... Yeah. Incoming Trump crime family fraud

[–] [email protected] 62 points 2 days ago (1 children)

Well, we can't have them investigating themselves now, can we?

[–] [email protected] 19 points 2 days ago (1 children)

This action is BECAUSE they investigated themselves. Just plugging all the leaks now.

Tomorrow is a better day...for them.

[–] [email protected] 3 points 2 days ago

There are a lot of us working to make sure they don't get better and better days. And the pressure is growing from all sides. They can't operate with impunity forever, and they have awoken a sleeping giant with all these service cuts that their base actually depends on (even though they were too stupid to know it).

[–] [email protected] 18 points 2 days ago

At this point it’s just a free for all over there. Insane.

[–] unconsciousvoidling 29 points 2 days ago

Trump is opening a crypto currency for taking bribes.

[–] [email protected] 38 points 2 days ago (1 children)

Sam Bankman Fried pardon incoming.

[–] RowRowRowYourBot 9 points 2 days ago (1 children)

No, he supported democrats too hard and he robbed rich people.

[–] [email protected] 5 points 2 days ago

he supported democrats

Yeah but not after the pardon he won't.

[–] [email protected] 31 points 2 days ago

"We audited ourselves and found the law should be changed."

[–] [email protected] 19 points 2 days ago

You mean after scamming people with their own coin the Trump clan decides it won't be prosecuted? Who would have seen this coming?

You gotta remember capital controls the state, not vice versa.

If capitalists can gain more power by converting to crypto and abandoning state currencies, they'll do it.

This is a big part of why crypto keeps going.

[–] [email protected] 10 points 2 days ago

So the legislative, executive, and the judicial is in cahoots. The Constitution is dead, and there's no longer any moral or legal basis for the states to remain in the union

[–] [email protected] 12 points 2 days ago (1 children)

at some point rule of law will break down completely

[–] [email protected] 6 points 2 days ago (2 children)

We've got a ways to go yet but it's certainly been set in motion.

The 5 million people protesting last week (including me) gives me hope. And I have had one friend tell me he wants to join me next time, and he's the last person I would ever think would protest.

There's momentum growing on the good side, too. Don't give up hope yet.

[–] [email protected] 4 points 2 days ago

there is no going back to the old because it was the old system that allowed this to happen. I hope you manage to take back your country and rebuild it, but first the rot has to be razed completely or same thing will happen again later even worse.

[–] [email protected] 2 points 2 days ago (1 children)

What's a hypothetical situation you can describe that may occur? That stops or limits this

[–] [email protected] 1 points 2 days ago (1 children)

Medicare/Medicaid/SS cuts will have people rioting. They are playing with fire there.

Aside from that type of drastic event, I see discontent growing daily. People are fed up with the general unease and sense of unfairness in our system. It takes time for that anger to build but you don't get 5 million people in the streets in every single state in the country when everyone is just sitting around taking their crap. I am hopeful that this growing movement will begin direct action such as general strikes, but that's a ways off. For now we just need to keep showing up, and show everyone else that there are a LOT of us and we are PISSED and we're not taking this laying down.

[–] [email protected] 2 points 2 days ago (1 children)

How's the public going to stop that though?

[–] [email protected] 2 points 2 days ago (1 children)

You'll have to be more specific. What's "that" you are referring to?

[–] [email protected] 2 points 1 day ago (1 children)

Stop it from being passed, stop it from being cut, or etc. I've recently also learned a lot from Medicard by Johnny Haris's youtube channel video about the subject and how its privatized a lot.

[–] [email protected] 1 points 1 day ago

Constant, unrelenting pressure via nonviolent protest is our best tool right now. If they fear they’ll lose the next election they will fall in line. We just need to put that fear in them.

Should the DOJ get involved in your unregulated financial market? Is anyone buying crypto thinking they are getting a real financial product?

[–] [email protected] 2 points 2 days ago (1 children)

What is a "real financial product"? smh.

[–] RowRowRowYourBot 3 points 2 days ago

A real financial product would be something like a mutual fund. These things are regulated and are typically fairly transparent in terms of how they work.

[–] [email protected] 6 points 2 days ago

Dishonour among thieves

[–] [email protected] 3 points 2 days ago (1 children)

Isn't elon one of the bit coin bros?

[–] [email protected] -5 points 2 days ago* (last edited 2 days ago)

Bitcoin is basically the only one that isn't totally fraudulent, though they've seemingly found ways to manipulate it.

Don't associate it with fElon.

[–] [email protected] 4 points 2 days ago (1 children)

At least I have a feasible backup for when I lose my legitimate job

[–] [email protected] 3 points 2 days ago (1 children)

Right?? My first thought was "well maybe I'll do some crypto scamming then!" I've got mouths to feed, why not milk suckers for money if the Feds don't care

[–] [email protected] 7 points 2 days ago (3 children)

Because it's wrong and evil to take advantage of other people?

[–] [email protected] 2 points 2 days ago

I mean really, ethics in this economy? Lol

[–] [email protected] 2 points 2 days ago
[–] [email protected] 2 points 2 days ago* (last edited 2 days ago)

Well in Bible it's says. "Love your neighbor as yourself." - I have nothing to eat and starve I share my love with them so they also don't have anything to eat and starve. I see no evil here, just sharing same love.
