Schumer said: “No, absolutely not,” adding, “Our caucus is united in fighting Donald Trump every step of the way.

He then further elaborated that each step would be six months apart and accept Republican demands.

united

If people are calling for you to step down, you're not united.

fighting Donald Trump

Oh? How so? Because from where we're sitting, you've not even begun to fight.

Seriously. When are you gonna start?

[–] tonytins@pawb.social 10 points 3 days ago (1 children)

and accept Republican demands.

That's literately what you did with the spending bill.

[–] TachyonTele@lemm.ee 4 points 3 days ago (1 children)

Excuse me sir. I didn't do anything with the spending bill.

-me, and chuck schumer

[–] tonytins@pawb.social 4 points 3 days ago (1 children)

Sorry. Wasn't meant to be directed at you. Just a little frustrated with Schumer is all.

[–] TachyonTele@lemm.ee 3 points 3 days ago

Oh no worries, i didn't take it like that.

[–] BrikoX@lemmy.zip 77 points 3 days ago (1 children)

We know. You would rather stay publically humiliated but still get your bribes from your owners.

[–] Gradually_Adjusting@lemmy.world 38 points 3 days ago

Who knows, Biden was talking this way up until the end too. Never give up hope.

Chuck Schumer has been in office since 1975. He's been a senator since the Matrix came out. He's also retirement age. As of 2025, Chuck Schumer's net worth is estimated to be around $81 million.

Just food for thought.

"My job is to keep the left pro-Israel" -Chuck Schumer

[–] alvvayson@lemmy.dbzer0.com 19 points 3 days ago

That was my thought, too. He can't quit, because he has to help Israel.

To be honest, if I were an American Jew, I would be getting worried. Right now, everything might seem fine and dandy. The immigrants, muslims, Latinos, trans and leftists are being targeted, not Jews.

But Yaakov Shapiro already warned, the Zionist messaging is painting a target on the back of Jews, by telling the world that they are loyal to Israel instead of their own country, the USA.

And when the fascists really have the power, then they won't care about deporting poor Haitian and latino immigrants. They'll just let them work for slave wages.

No, they will start setting their sights on how to take stuff away from rich minorities.

You just know Elon Musk will gladly take over Meta and OpenAI from Mark Zuckerberg and Sam Altman.

It's also to keep increasing the wealth of conservative billionaires.

The dems should just start bringing bags of feathers and pots of tar to their meetings. Real casual like.

[–] TropicalDingdong@lemmy.world 13 points 3 days ago

I've got a bag of chicken shit ready to bring to chicken shit Ed Cases' office.

Corn syrup stays sticky at room temp and is easier to clean out of the carpet.

[–] Gnugit@aussie.zone 1 points 2 days ago (1 children)

I think death is the point though...

[–] nomy@lemmy.zip 2 points 2 days ago (1 children)

Death? Tarring and feathering wasn't an execution, it was a humiliation.

[–] Gnugit@aussie.zone 1 points 1 day ago (1 children)

I've been lead to believe that to be correctly tar and feathered the tar must be applied thickly and to the whole naked body. This causes a slow and agonising death via the complete shut-down of normal skin function.

[–] nomy@lemmy.zip 2 points 1 day ago (1 children)

I've found numerous cases of tarring and feathering and no intentional deaths. It was typically meant to humiliate someone rather than kill them, which is why it's not considered a method of execution.

What does "complete shut-down of normal skin function" mean?

[–] Gnugit@aussie.zone 1 points 1 day ago

The skin can't breath or sweat under a full layer of tar and ends up like a full body case of advanced trench foot causing numerous complications.

The context was medieval full body and naked tarring though and it was something I was told as a child around 40 years ago.

We need to. It’s way past time of letting the dnc be the controlled opposition and the party needs to genuinely represent a populist platform

[–] nothingcorporate@lemmy.world 17 points 2 days ago

Fuck him and fuck any Democrat in Congress that isn't publicly and privately pressuring him to go.

[–] MushuChupacabra@lemmy.world 21 points 3 days ago (1 children)

This is easy to explain. Chuck Schumer is an asshole.

[–] alquicksilver@lemmy.world 5 points 3 days ago (1 children)

Can we mandate he legally change his name to Schmuck Schumer?

[–] billiam0202@lemmy.world 5 points 3 days ago

It's time to chuck Schumer!

[–] givesomefucks@lemmy.world 19 points 3 days ago

The only time a neoliberal plants their feet and fights is when it's against Dem voters

They're not on our fucking side.

[–] charade_you_are 13 points 3 days ago

I really like when Jon Stewart makes fun of him. Makes my day
