What is a Tankie?

Basic Rules:

Hate-Speech — You should be familiar with this one already; practically all instances have the same rules on hate speech.
Apologia — (Using the Modern terminology for Apologia) No Defending, Denying, Justifying, Bolstering, or Differentiating authoritarian acts or endeavours, whether be a Pro-CCP viewpoint, Stalinism, Islamic Terrorism or any variation of Tankie Ideology.
Revisionism — No downplaying or denying atrocities past and present. Calling Tankies shills, foreign/federal agents, or bots also falls under this rule. Extremists exist. They are real. Do not call them shills or fake users as it handwaves their extremism.
Tankies can explain their views but may be criticised or attacked for them. Any slight infraction on the rules above will immediately earn a warning and possibly a ban.
Off-topic Discussion — Do not discuss unrelated topics to the point of derailing the thread. Stay focused on the direct content of the post as opposed to arguing.
You'll be warned if you're violating the instance and community rules. Continuing poor behaviour after being warned will result in a ban or removal of your comments. Bans typically only last 24 hours, but each subsequent infraction will double the amount. Depending on the content, the ban time may be increased. You may request an unban at any time.

I could find way more dodgy bans if I just spend five minutes scrolling the general modlog. ML bans are so frequent and tend to be so dodgy, that the ban you got there is like the least unsuprising thing of my day.
Unsurprising, but a blatant example of them not allowing criticism. I mean, people expect it from them, but it is something to link to when one claims they don't do this.

It's a shame so many default to .ml without any knowledge of who owns and runs the instance...
It's because not enough bigger instances have thrown in the towel and defederated lemmy.ml. Many people are able to ignore this issue when it hasn't happened to them which is why they still choose to create communities there. Defederation though is harder to ignore since it kills your chances of starting a community there.
Tangential, but: communities should be linked in the form of !name @ server.tld.
While yes, ml is a shithole. If you spammed that (I haven't checked), the ban is fair game.

If you don't attack them directly (e.g. call them tankies) and just list the alternative, you'd be fine.
I mean that's kinda what you get. You go to their instance, talk shit about their instance, and get banned. Any other one would very likely do the same, regardless of orientation
I dunno, unless you're spamming I feel like mods of normal instances wouldn't be threatened by someone in their comm presenting alternatives.

Quit putting words into other people's mouths. The post is right there, they did not say that. They said you could go to another instance that doesn't have the baggage of tankie authoritarianism. If you can't accept middling criticism, make your shit private, get off publicly accessed media.

Saying this on a post and comm entirely unrelated to 'tankie authoritarianism' is just off topic at best and directly malicious at worst. Anyone that does that should be banned. Either keep your options to areas with any semblance of being on topic, or don't whine about moderators doing the bare minimum.
I don't yell about us imperialistic nightmare shit that .world wholeheartedly supports on cat comms that happen to be hosted on .world. and it'd be right to ban me if I did, because those are cats, not nazis pretending trump is the first nazi in the white house when Joe racial jungle biden was just in it.
You should be able to express your anti-imperialist sentiment as well. If someone asks about an alternative, and you suggest something other than world, and tell them it is better because they aren't loaded with closeted nazis, you should be able to. It is a very low level comment in regards to how rude/disruptive it is. I could understand if they were going all over the place just doing that. That is not what is happening.
If you are that sensitive you should lock your place, and add people via invite, as you see them posting things you like. You should then have your rules expressed about this stuff. If you have an open door system, you should be able to tolerate critical comments that are middling rude.
By your system of etiquette, you should be not arguing this, as you are on a space specifically to discuss over authoritarian mods in places like .ml, etc. in a snarky, sarcastic, satirizing, etc. way. This is not the place to defend the behavior. However you are good to criticize the opinions/posts here, as long as you don't do something stupid like make threat. That is how it should be.
True, but in this case it was more of a poke for davel, since they were so kind as to revert my 1 year site ban 2 months in for the sole purpose of allowing their following to brigade my posts and content lol

Lmao, technically my achievement has been relocked since davel reverted my existing 1 year site ban just 2 months in for brigading purposes and just manually banned me from ~~29~~ 30 comms out of 3655+ .ml comms
And even this isn't a site ban, just a plain ol comm ban, but since davel issued the Kia comm ban, I accomplished what I wanted
