What is a Tankie?

Basic Rules:

Apologia — (Using the Modern terminology for Apologia) No Defending, Denying, Justifying, Bolstering, or Differentiating authoritarian acts or endeavours, whether be a Pro-CCP viewpoint, Stalinism, Islamic Terrorism or any variation of Tankie Ideology.
Revisionism — No downplaying or denying atrocities past and present. Calling Tankies shills, foreign/federal agents, or bots also falls under this rule. Extremists exist. They are real. Do not call them shills or fake users as it handwaves their extremism.
Tankies can explain their views but may be criticised or attacked for them. Any slight infraction on the rules above will immediately earn a warning and possibly a ban.
Off-topic Discussion — Do not discuss unrelated topics to the point of derailing the thread. Stay focused on the direct content of the post as opposed to arguing.
You'll be warned if you're violating the instance and community rules. Continuing poor behaviour after being warned will result in a ban or removal of your comments. Bans typically only last 24 hours, but each subsequent infraction will double the amount. Depending on the content, the ban time may be increased. You may request an unban at any time.
They're all normal accounts too, seems like it's just a preemptive ban based on "possible unaligned with tankies vibes" ig lmao
.ml is the closest to a Reddit experience you'll get on Lemmy.
They probably posted memes that were funny. .ml/memes can only be passive aggressive trolling attempts designed for c/all, for users on other instances. Misinformation is highly suggested.
(One of the primary meme posters there also discovered . world/funny is basically abandoned, so tankie meme leakage happens there too.)
Yea but those post removals should still show in the modlog and I did check .ml's version and another instance in case .worlds version was messing up again
They were site banned.
Lemmy then generates community bans for all communities the user has interacted with at the time of the ban.
Second one was unbanned a few hours later, so probably one of the common automod glitches that get people all hot and bothered.
True, but over what though is the question? If you do a site ban with purge it removes content and then you can see that in the modlog
I went through their profiles a bit and there's nothing really in there that's against the tankies.
So either the modlog is messing up/being messed with and missed content removals or davel has started going through people's profiles or voting history and site banning them on nothing but vibes now LMAO
