Ska would be mozzarella sticks with extra marinara sauce
What do people think a lasagna would be?
Orchestral
Pop would be cotton candy. Eye catching, but no real substance.
Folk (thinking specifically John Prine, Todd Snider) is like one of those really fantastic casseroles your mom would make on Friday night, the type you ate until you wanted to burst, and felt safe and loved.
Left wing folk (Phil Ochs, et al) is like a vegan General Tso. You're sure you're going to be missing something, it can't be as good as the original, it has an agenda... But it turns out to be fucking amazing, and way better than the one with chicken
Rockabilly is Southern Fried. :)
Industrial metal is the feeling of chewing on aluminum foil
Chiptune: sour candy. It's artificial, it's energising as it is sour, and it reminds of childhood when computers were all about bloops and bleeps.
Hip-hop is like special fried rice. All types of left over bits and pieces recooked and mixed together to make something new.
I feel like heavy metal would be like biting into a gumball and realizing it's a jawbreaker/gobstopper.
(Love the genre; just thought this description was funny)
Nu-metal would be pop rocks and cola
