I've been finding Zulip quite helpful. It's threading model is great and they overall focus quite a bit in the project coordination use-case. You can either self-host it or pay for their managed hosting (which is free for open-source projects), and you can add a plugin to make static HTML pages of streams (aka channels) in order to make stuff indexable and searchable (and iirc this is getting polished and built into Zulip's core).

If you care about accessibility, email is still the best choice — it's mostly text-focused, doesn't need an account (besides what is universally seen as the most basic Internet identity), truly decentralized and has mature tooling. I just haven't found a really good mailing list archive web UI. HyperKitty is good, but isn't quite there for me. lists.sr.ht is neat, but lacks a lot of features. Above all, indexability and searchability (from inside the UI itself) is key.

Not sure about pill treatments but I had tried a bunch of ineffective things before a friend recommended me one of these Seresto collars.
They're just magic man, I don't know. My dog and cat used to consistently get fleas, but a couple of weeks after I got them one of those, every freaking bug just vanished. Nothing ever since, as far as I can tell (I still check them often).

If anyone knows how these works, I'd love to be enlightened!

As dificuldades técnicas vão sendo partilhadas através da página de estado e, caso sejam suficientemente significativas, através das mensagens de cabeçalho ("taglines" na gíria do Lemmy) ou de publicações afixadas nesta comunidade.

Dificuldades financeiras por enquanto não são impeditivas, e é algo no qual quero trabalhar. Eventualmente acho que vou migrar da Liberapay para a OpenCollective (pelo menos como plataforma principal), e tb tenho que publicar as contas para os últimos meses. Infelizmente ainda não reservei um tempinho para tratar dessas tarefas administrativas.

Por fim, ainda continuamos com uma grande dificuldade, aliás, a maior: falta de atividade. Aí é que todos podem ajudar. Vão publicando notícias, artigos, questões, discussões. Qualquer coisa. Partilhem a existência desta instância noutras plataformas (sem nunca quebrar as regras nem ser muito chato!).

True, an RCE is always a serious thing. Just saying it's not exactly catastrophic like others have been more so.

The exploit isn't that practicable, since it takes a very long time on 32 bit systems, which are ever rarer to see.

Voz é natural, voz é humana. É por isso que estamos empolgados com a criação de tecnologia de voz utilizável para as nossas máquinas. Mas para criar sistemas de voz, os programadores precisam de uma quantidade extremamente grande de dados de voz.

A maior parte dos dados usados por grandes empresas não está disponível para a maioria das pessoas. Nós achamos que isso sufoca a inovação. Então, lançamos o Common Voice, um projeto para ajudar a tornar o reconhecimento de voz aberto e acessível a todos.

Uma excelente iniciativa da Mozilla, pouco conhecida apesar de já ter uns bons anos.
O Português continua a ter poucas horas faladas e relativamente poucas frases, por isso partilho aqui.

After my 6 year old Redmi 4X's screen touch decided to die, I got an opened-not-used Pixel 4a (in perfect condition) at the end of 2022, because it was one of the few small-ish phones that had good modding support (Pixel phones are ofc known to be very good to degoogle). I love it. Feels good, works well, has a great camera (got a GCam mod too), etc. Only downside is the smaller battery (3100 vs 4100 mAh), but honestly it isn't that big of a deal, I can just carry a powerbank on my backpack or, you know, use my phone less.

Back then, it was the perfect choice for me. Now, I don't know, haven't been keeping up with current models.
