The Fauci hate from Trumpets is absolutely bizarre. Trump hired Fauci for his Corona virus task force. Trump could have fired him at any time.

[–] [email protected] 48 points 2 days ago

Sacrificial scapegoats are foundational for fascist leaders.

[–] [email protected] 28 points 2 days ago (1 children)

Yes, but Fauci dared to use his expertise to tell trump he was wrong, instead of just doing everything trump told him to do.

[–] jballs 25 points 2 days ago (1 children)

That's what's hilarious and also scary about this whole thing. Trump, wanting to score easy points and get a quick win, read a sign about hospital cleaning procedures and stepped up to a podium and basically said "we're looking into things with bleach and injecting light to cure the disease."

And Fauci, doing his job, was like "please be safe, socially distance, and wear masks while we work to get a safe and effective vaccine."

And people lost their fucking minds.

That was such an uncomfortable situation. I don't remember the lady's name, Susan something? Anyways, whomever was in charge at the time, he was trying to get her to agree that his insane ramblings was what they were actively working on and she looked like she just wanted to melt into the chair. You could see on everyone's face that trump was a petty schoolyard bully, who would punish anyone who dared speak of reality instead of living in his own ignorant castle of lies.

So let me get this straight, a lady in Texas upsets an insurance company and gets arrested for threats. Someone makes, hangs, then posts this and it's fine?

You don't need to be a Christian to question the mental stability of someone who decorates their home with lynched effigies of people they hate.

But saying 3 little words to a random call center agent is considered terrorism? Fuck our legal system.

[–] [email protected] 2 points 2 days ago

It was the 2 words that came after those 3 that got her into trouble.

So I'm confused, is saying you want the elite to die something the right-wing talking heads are in favour of, or is it beyond the pale? Because they've gotten awfully inconsistent about this one in the past few weeks.

Only certain members

Isn't there a hotline we can call now to report stuff like this?

[–] [email protected] 1 points 2 days ago (1 children)

You referring to Luigi? I thought even republicans were supporting him. (Voters anyway.)

[–] [email protected] 1 points 2 days ago

The tweet in question came from a (former?) US Republican congressman. Derrick Evans. He was also there on Jan 6 if a cursory Internet search is to be believed.

I was checking out at the grocery store the other day when the cashier wished me a Merry Christmas. I replied with, “happy holidays!“

She was visibly upset.

It’s beyond me why some people are like this.

[–] [email protected] 13 points 2 days ago

Honestly I say that now, not because it's correct but now to piss them off

[–] [email protected] 3 points 2 days ago (2 children)

I usually respond in Spanish as a white dude, the confused looks are priceless

[–] [email protected] 4 points 2 days ago

I whip out my guitarra and wizard’s sombrero

[–] [email protected] 2 points 2 days ago (1 children)

Try Finnish next time for maximum confusion

[–] [email protected] 2 points 2 days ago

I like the way you think 😉

[–] [email protected] 32 points 2 days ago (2 children)

It's barbaric for sure, but isn't that Christian behavior? For starters, they decorate their rooms with a replica of the mangled corpse of their savior. Same with any cross symbolism, really.

[–] midnight_puker 32 points 2 days ago (1 children)

Christianity is a weird blood cult.

[–] [email protected] 17 points 2 days ago (1 children)

They literally pretend to drink the blood of their god, and munch on his corpse.

[–] [email protected] 19 points 2 days ago

Stop trying to make Christians sound cool

[–] [email protected] 5 points 2 days ago (1 children)

That's Catholics. Christians use an empty cross to signify the resurrection. Either way, both use the symbol of Jesus crucifixion because according to the Bible, the crucifixion was the sacrifice Jesus made to provide forgiveness for a humanity that didn't deserve it, the very definition of grace. Unfortunately the actual message appears to be completely lost on a lot of people these days.

[–] [email protected] 1 points 2 days ago (1 children)

Yeah, the “sacrifice Jesus made.” I think the Romans had something to do with that. Maybe we should be thanking them for killing Jesus to save us from our sins.

[–] [email protected] 1 points 2 days ago

According to the Bible, as the son of God, Jesus could have stopped the crucifixion from moving forward at any time. He allowed himself to be crucified as one final blood sacrifice offering to God. That's why Christians don't sacrifice animals on the altar anymore, the way that the Hebrews did, because it is no longer necessary thanks to Jesus' sacrifice.

How is this not a threat? How is this not an act of violence?

Effigies are protected speech.

Kinda like when Kathy Griffith did a photoshoot with Trump's head.

Or when I wear a shirt with Mario's brother on it to the contact negotiations.

[–] [email protected] 5 points 2 days ago

It's just a joke! /s

[–] [email protected] 17 points 2 days ago

is this a threat to conduct a mass shooting or act of terrorism?

[–] [email protected] 16 points 2 days ago (1 children)

The best part is how the person would have gone to so much effort, organization, time and headaches to find those little dolls that look like the politicians they wanted ..... if they couldn't find them, they probably had them custom made ..... all to hang on their tree like this and post it online.

[–] [email protected] 4 points 2 days ago (1 children)

It was probably sold that way as a set by some grifter somewhere

[–] [email protected] 4 points 2 days ago (1 children)

Was googling to find if there was a set for sale.

Instead I found this

“Not my tree. Not my ornaments.”

[–] [email protected] 2 points 2 days ago

He's an insurrectionist? Lmao

Hope this doesn't get use against him by the DoJ 🤞

[–] [email protected] 9 points 2 days ago

Damn, my inlaws wanted xmas photos of all the family holding guns. They did this before. Even at the time i thought, “i dont think this conveys good will towards man” as well as you may think. I just wore my anarchy raccoon shirt :)

[–] [email protected] 6 points 2 days ago

This is what mental illness looks like.

[–] [email protected] 9 points 2 days ago

Somebody get this man his own hotline!

[–] [email protected] 10 points 2 days ago

What a stupid asshole. At least they advertise who they are so others know to avoid them.

[–] [email protected] 4 points 2 days ago

Will they be leaving out milk and cookies for when the secret service visits?

[–] [email protected] 6 points 2 days ago

It honestly seems like the sort of thing the MAGAts would try to turn into a new american tradition, the lynching in effigy of whoever they declare enemies of the state.

[–] [email protected] 5 points 2 days ago

It's just like my Christmas tree except all the ornaments are billionaires and CEOs

[–] [email protected] 2 points 2 days ago

Happy holidays? Inclusive of multiple beliefs.

Merry Christmas? Well, Christ is right there.

Invoking the yule cat? Ominous, but not overly threatening assuming you receive some new clothes.

Invoking the yule lads? Well, that is a bit worse. Better keep a yule log burning through the night.

[–] [email protected] 4 points 2 days ago

Are they threatening to lynch these people? It's so fucked.
