I asked an 18yo I know whether 'rizzler' was actually a thing people say and they said no. 'Rizz', however, is a common term.

At my partner's house, there are two cats: Mr. And Mrs. Rizzler. The teenagers in the house started calling them that and everyone went with it. Before then, the term was used basically every single time I saw any of them. It seems to most often be used as nonsense or just a word to shout at each other while trying to be annoying, but sometimes in the actual context of charisma (for example, a charismatic classmate was described as a "rizzler").

So yeah, it's a thing in some circles, but I'm hopeful this is an isolated incident.

As indicated in the OP, M'lord Bacon "Beans" Stroganoff

(I'm counting more recent memes from Lemmy as millennial since most of us are millennials or Gen X 😁)

22 here, we use it sometimes, although basically exclusively ironically (e.g. for a "nice guy" demanding sex)

[–] [email protected] 0 points 3 months ago

it just means someone with a high amount of charisma, thats what rizz is short for lol

You wouldn't want to be from Ohio, Ohio is cringe. This meme is Ohio. The knight must always be sigma to our alpha, rizzzler to our for shizzle my nizzle, our Skibidi to our badgers badgers badgers.

[–] [email protected] 17 points 3 months ago

It's all cringe, always has been.

[–] [email protected] 13 points 3 months ago (1 children)

That you are from Ohio does not mean you must be ohio.

[–] [email protected] 6 points 3 months ago

what is better? to be born outside Ohio, or to overcome your Ohio nature through great effort?

Generation alpha are the little kids coming up.

Rizzler is someone with Rizz, chaRISma.

Ohio sucks. It's a bad state.

Mid is between good and bad, but seems to also mean bad sometimes.

Skibidi is a nonsense word from the Skibidi Toilet Gary's Mod machina videos.

Phantom Tax is something about the Minecraft Phantom creatures I think.

Regarding Fanum Tax, as per urbandictionary:

Fanum tax comes from the comedy creator Fanum, who is a member of streamer Kai Cenat's influencer crew AMP. The phrase refers to the way Fanum would jokingly "tax" other members of AMP in 2022 by taking bits of their food when they were eating, according to the digital culture database KnowYourMeme. The website says the meme is popular with both Gen Alpha and Gen Z, but numerous Gen Zers say they were not aware of the meme at all.

Never heard of them. Thank you.

[–] [email protected] 4 points 3 months ago

You’re welcome.

[–] [email protected] 3 points 3 months ago

whoa, that makes so much sense! I always interpreted it as "Fandom Tax", which was confusing as Gen Z doesn't really do fandoms anymore

[–] [email protected] 6 points 3 months ago

mid is bad in the same sense that mediocre is never used to mean good

[–] [email protected] 6 points 3 months ago

Appreciate the effort.

[–] [email protected] 2 points 3 months ago

it's actually fanum tax and nobody has any idea what the fuck it means
