You can make a million a year if you know how to shave half a cent off each package of something.

And instead of more waste, try:

I wish they sold them out of dispensers at the shops so that you could fill these directly and cut packaging out of the equation

They do at places that have those bulk items bins. Though those are becoming less common and you usually only get really basic cereals like raisen bran or corn flakes.

This is an awesome idea - putting cereal in 3d printer filament boxes!

That’s funny

Presume you’d want a food-grade liner

The giant bags of knock off cereal have had resealable bags for years, maybe decades. Good to see the overpriced stuff catching up!

Malt-o-meal fruity Dino bites legit taste better than fruity pebbles

I like their version of lucky charms more than the original!

Actually I like all of their knock off stuff more than the originals.

I prefer honey comb to honey buzzers but not enough to eat the price

Marshmallow Mateys... Arrr

[–] [email protected] 2 points 1 month ago

Hell yeah, they do!

The pebbles get over sog by being hard as a fucking rock. They're terrible.

Somebody's too fancy for Malt-O+Meal cereal bags.

I thought the joke was that the malt-o-meal zippers were trash and they need to get with ziplock to come up with something more robust. Plastic cereal containers are basically inevitable when you keep hungry, impatient kids and bags of malt-o-meal in the same house.

I believe the complaint is about the lack of any kind of sealing method with your average cereal product:

[–] [email protected] 3 points 1 month ago

I just fold them over and use a clothes peg to keep them that way...

I wish my stores still carried them.

Than walmart? Yikes, I'd hate to see what that is like.

I remember back in 5th grade my teacher brought in for show-and-tell a guy who said his sole job was designing the plastic bags that go in cereal boxes. And to clarify just how boring this guy's job actually is, the teacher asked "do you design the box art as well?" to a emphatic reply "no, but...". Kids only asked about cereal flavors and toys they wanted to see in boxes. He gave everyone 2 little sample cereal boxes; and that was it.

What kind of bizarre trinket cabinet did your teacher have.

“And today kids I brought in Howard. His job is to measure tolerances on every B22 lightbulb to come out of the local GE lightbulb factory”

Once a typing\computer class teacher had a cabinet of corks. All sizes. All kinds. Confiscated. It didn't come from Chemistry, they used rubber stoppers. There was no art decor classes. Nobody knew where they were coming from.

These things work great, but I bought them from a bin store on $1 day. They want too damned much money for the things if you buy them normally. I now feel a bit pissed at the company for price gouging so hard.

We have those, they work pretty well.

[–] [email protected] 2 points 1 month ago

My chips definitely last longer. It's also nice for stuff kept in the freezer like bags of fries or frozen burritos.

I have my own reusable containers for cereal. Like what @brbposting showed.
