Not all Conservatives! /s

But like, their leaders do most of this and they support their leaders so it's an irrelevant distinction. In the US it's essentially boiled down to the Republican party: The RNC and the party supports Trump who is an obvious fascist, racist, etc. They support him to the point of making their entire policy just him. Whereas normal parties have actual policies and the POTUS is merely the leader of the party. So if you support the Republican party you are de facto supporting Trump and are therefore supporting straight fascism.

In the past you could at least support Republicans for their policies (these have their own problems) but not support their current Presidential candidate/POTUS. But they've gone all-in on Trump so it's a wash.

I used to consider myself a fiscal conservative… then I realized republicans are just as, if not more than, fiscally irresponsible than democrats. At least with dems, they try to provide a social safety net.

If you’re going to waste money on unsustainable policy, you may as well try to benefit as many people as possible. We should be trying to find sustainability. Right now, that means taxing the fuck out of the wealthy and creating programs that bring the poor into the middle class, and the middle class into a reasonable quality of life.

Neither party is acheiving that, but democrats are closer to the answer than republicans.

Yeah Republicans really won the messaging war on making people believe they are fiscally conservative. Because who wouldn't want their government to be fiscally conservative?! It sounds awesome.

Turns out, while most people hear fiscally conservative they imagine being smart with spending, but when Republicans say fiscally conservative and mean tax cuts for the wealthy.
