(Verse 1) Out here on the edge of the galaxy's arm, In my rusted spaceship, away from the farm. I'm missing that old Earth, its green and its blue, But the stars out here sparkle like morning dew.
(Chorus) I've got stars in my whiskey, and tears in my eye, Drifting through the cosmos, under the infinite sky. Missing my home, where the red rivers flow, Out here in the stars, with nowhere to go.

That's exactly the content I expected, but with much better execution.
Scansion needs tweaking in a few places, but that is not bad.

Yeah the chorus seems to have the same structure as the verse, and it changes the lyrics of the chorus each time. You'd sing the same chorus each time, maybe extending it the second or third time through.
I just meant it doesn't fit the chorus in "Drops Of Jupiter." Some variation is valid - like "What's My Age Again." Or for an example at least this extreme, "One Week" by the Barenaked Ladies.
I was meaning more the overall concept of the lyrics. "Since her return from her stay on the moon." etc. Where the rhyming scheme of various space words was more important than their actual meaning.
Follow-up question, what's the space equivalent of a slide guitar? A theremin?
If that's what's going on in Goldfrapp's "Pilots," then absolutely.
