At first, I got frustrated while reading people being wrong for 200 comments. I still am, but I was at first as well.

Woof yeah, that was one of my first times reading a reddit thread since I left during the API disaster and holy fuck I am glad I left.

It's not even people being wrong, but the whole vibe is repugnant.

I've had unpleasant exchanges on Lemmy, sure, but the general vibe is just so much more acceptable, seeing it now I wonder why I didn't leave reddit sooner.

Well if you like Lemmy... You might also enjoy Linux UwU

Redditors really hate having their routines challenged. The ones who want to leave will leave, and the group of people who stay behind will become increasingly obstinate (and it's probably for the best).

Anti Lemmy sentiment is very strong

I am wondering where this is coming from since half of the comments are just out right wrong.

I physically cannot care, for I value my sanity. But I can guess that kids these days simply value things we never even considered amenities. Automatic username choices? No. No, thank you

Automatic username choices are considered a feature? Jfc that's depressing

TBF, not all of us are cutie pies

@[email protected] I only just now understood your username. I'd been previously reading it as iMac-T-pie, or something.

[–] [email protected] 5 points 3 weeks ago (1 children)

Your username has Elon in it, discovered this by first wrongly configuring my keyword filters 😄

[–] threelonmusketeers 2 points 2 weeks ago

Haha, clbuttic mistake :)

[–] imaqtpie 4 points 3 weeks ago

Lol indeed, people don't think it be like that but it do

[–] AwesomeLowlander 2 points 3 weeks ago (1 children)

What's the 'lon' in your username stand for, anyway?

[–] threelonmusketeers 4 points 3 weeks ago

Oh, the 'lon' doesn't stand for anything. I just realized that inserting it into 'threemusketeers' would result in the string 'elonmusk'.

Ha! Airsick Lowlander

Tribalism at its finest.

[–] [email protected] 6 points 3 weeks ago (1 children)

What were they saying that you consider to be "wrong"? I got the vibe nobody was interested in learning how Lemmy works, but didn't see any misinformation.

No apps, bad UI (which doesn’t make sense for a Reddit user to say), confusing sign-ups, etc.. Strictly speaking, they’re mostly opinions. But they’re opinions that don’t make sense, given the simplicity of the tasks

[–] [email protected] 12 points 3 weeks ago (1 children)

I've said this many times before, but FOSS enthusiasts vastly overestimate the amount of hassle non technical people are willing to put up with to do something. The only thing in that list that is factually incorrect is no apps.

[–] Gullible 4 points 3 weeks ago

You’re probably correct. I rarely speak to others about their social media habits, so I lack perspective on that front.
