I think 3 is the most useful. You can use it to reach things just out of your height range and maybe as a party trick. I'm sure there are other uses for it too, given enough time I could probably think of some other uses too.

I second this app, I'm a big fan of the campaign finance reform score. If you want an easy way to fight the citizens united ruling, this is it.

Also want to give a shout out to https://www.opensecrets.org. their site isn't as easy to use as goods, but the have a lot more data and if you can't find info about a company or politician on goods you can usually still find it on open secrets.

Oh this saves me so much time and energy, thank you!

Yea I previously used bitwarden, my issue with it is that bitwarden is hosted in the US(which was the only reason I switched to PP), so I'm thinking about renting a vps and hosting vaultwarden in it or something.

God. Fucking. Dam. It.

I use too many of their services right now to get everything switched over to something else before trump takes power.

The swiss better fucking jail this guy if he hands over data to the us government without swiss court approval, per swiss law.

Now I have to find a new password manager, VPN, and email provider. Open to suggestions, but I want to find services that aren't hosed in the us or by trump friendly countries/companies, and ideally use open source software and zero access encryption.

Hate speech has never really been truely illegal in the US because the right to free speech is so strong, we've been fortunate to have social media companies regulate toxic content online in the past, but now it seems that era is coming to an end.

I didn't really use my Facebook account but I started the process to "delete it permanently" yesterday anyways, though I doubt it will do much except give me a good excuse to never use messenger or click on a Facebook link.

I genuinely don't understand why anyone would go through the effort of switching email providers from one free spyware email provider to another free spyware email provider.

If you don't mind waiting a while for whatever it is you're buying, ali-express isn't too bad. If you're near a city and it's not too specialized of a thing you need you can probably find it at a a brick and mortar store.

This man is a hero, everyone spewing hate at him needs to take a long hard look at their life.

I host my own technetium (recursive DNS) server and have my phone set to always be connected to my network through wireguard. I have nextdns as one of my upstreams along with mullvad and a few others in case those don't work.

Its a shame that they did that, especially since the largest neurodivergent community on lemmy was over there, but for anyone who calls this instance or lemmy.world home I saw we make this the new one.
