I've drafted multiple responses to this but I find this comment so nonsensical that I get lost in my own anger trying to formulate a coherent sentence.

Sir/madam, you have broken me.

Even after trumpism is defeated, there's a lot of trust for the US people to rebuild with their allies.

If the people are so willing to vote in dictator idiot maniacs, then how can other countries trust those same people to not do it again?

It's the same for European countries at the moment as well. The UK is fairly less trusted right now because they vote idiots like Farage, Hungary is snubbed because Orban is a Russian колбаса sucker - so on and so on.

Those generations that vote these people in will still live a few more decades and as such any goodwill towards them is diminished.

For he insulation layer, I've seen people use sponges. Do you recommend anything else?

Second hand fridge with an inkbird thermostat.

I don't have a heater in there, but from my brews before the fridge the problem was keeping it cool, not warm. Does anybody with more experience than me have thoughts on why I might need a heater?

Looking forward to trying this out in a few weeks.

Beer brewing is kinda of doing this for me right now.

I'm getting excited each time I see the colour when I bottle it and then after a couple of weeks when it's drinking time I'm like a kid of Christmas day to see how it tastes.

From a grown up perspective there's legs to this as well. I can start off cheap, see how to improve, and slowly gather more equipment to do it better and better.

Haha thanks for the congratulations! Now time to sit and wait. Anticipating the first sip :D

The one on the left is my first batch, the right my second (just bottled).

I'm very happy with the colour improvement and the sample tastes were better too. Fingers crossed I'll have a much less bitter batch.

My changes to the first run were blocking any outdoor lights (newspaper over window -my wife loved it) and keeping it in a water bath to regulate temperature until sampling time.

In the next batch, or the one after, I should have an under counter fridge to keep it in so this'll help even more.

I have these bottles which I've already used once.

My question is if the lids/caps should be refused with beer? I'm concerned that the seal may not be strong enough without the anti-tampering loop attached (as they break when opened).

Thanks for any help!

It's on the list, but not something I've researched much yet. Do you recommend?

Did you add them raw or boiled them down or something? And what was your best flavour?

Hello Brewers!

I am still a noob to this, but I want to brew my wife something that she'd like.

I don't yet have the equipment to do an all grain, and I am reliant on extracts.

I was wondering if anyone has experimented with adding flavour ingredients, like cherry for example, to an extract? If so, when and what have you added? And is this going to be an expensive process of trial and error?

What exactly are Americans getting for the tax they pay in now?

[–] thetreesaysbark 3 points 2 months ago

Surely chocolate teapot is th classic. Although that tastes good - I'd wager Trump does not.

I was wondering why dem presidents aren't doing the same thing.

The only reason I could come up with is that dem voters, averagely, seem to have some sort of standard. They do advocate for improving fellow citizen's lives. They do think their president should be held accountable (on the most part, but there's definitely more accountability that could be put on dem presidents too).

Jump to the right wing republican voters. They're either blindly following trump (they see him as some sort of role model), or they just think trump will allow them more of the freedoms they want (guns for example) and don't really care about their society as a whole. I also strongly suspect there are right wing groups that believe Trump will screw everything up, put the country in turmoil, and allow them to seize some small control of their own.

I have never claimed the US to be reliable, I'm trying to say that 'trading with the US' was one of the ideas being touted during the referendum.

Also, they are certainly less reliable now than then.

Ministers hope this announcement is a reasonable basis for carrying on with negotiations over a trade deal that could lead to them falling or being dropped entirely.

Came out not bad. But the starting temperature was a little high and it has a slight tangy flavour.

I'm trying to find a way to better control the fermentation temperature on the cheap. Any tips appreciated!

One question I do have... After leaving in the bottles for a couple of weeks I've noticed a white residue is settling on the bottom of the bottle. Is this normal? (Pic of sediment in comments)

Not really sure what the word is of what I'm looking for but...

I'm after chest freezer. It doesn't need to be working as I only need the shell.

I was thinking that I may be able to go to a recycling site and ask the staff there or something like that? I'm not sure if this is really a thing but I've definitely heard of people finding things that people have thrown away etc.

Do I just need to drive around my city looking for fly tipping/skips?

I've just brewed my first batch ever. For my first time I went with the Cooper's European Lager kit.

FG was stable for 3 days (due to some personal stuff I couldn't bottle it on day 2) and the FG matched the expected end ABV as advertised.

The beer tasted pretty good on sampling before bottling.

So far so good.

One thing I am surprised by, however, is how dark this lager looks. Not sure if this will get lighter during the 2 weeks that it's suggested to leave it in the bottle, it's something that can happen to this different batches, or it's just how this beer looks?

Thanks for any tips/advice anyone can offer :)

It is satisfactory.

Is anyone else noticing a lot of repeated posts in their feeds recently?

Almost each time I go through my subscribed, local, or all feeds I am now seeing the same post from the same community multiple times.

I'm using 'last 6 hours' as a filter if that helps.

I hope articles like this about the Tories keep up throughout labours time in power so people don't forget on the next GE.
