Thank you for reminding me about this! I had forgotten about hearing that it was becoming a national park. I spent a lot of time there in the summers as a kid; my dad really liked white-water rafting and took a part-time gig as a guide in the summer to fund his hobby, and my little brother and I spent weekends at the rafting company campground (the Rivermen? is that still operating?) catching salamanders and begging to go out on the next rafting trip.

I have noticed this bottleneck too, and wondered if there might be some way to build a website or app to help facilitate people trading labor, but I have no clue about the feasibility or where to even start. I wear thinking something that enabled people to match skills with needs, to act as a portfolio for samples of their work, to list local endorsements or mutual connections for some level of trust, but that sounds pretty daunting.

How is it romanticizing the situation to acknowledge that sometimes we get so locked up in something that we don't feed or relieve ourselves? Is it the use of color? Is it the tone? How would you present this information more appropriately?

Why does the computer make you conclude OP is in their 50s? OP says in the title that they're 46. I'm 41, and we had this computer at my rural elementary school.
