Yeah it was like that for me for a while. You just have to try your best not to run out of ideas, really know your stuff and just persist, even when it feels like you aren't getting anywhere. And then every now and then, you will manage to engage a great contributor, who decides to post regularly, taking some of the load off yourself. If you continue to persist anyway, eventually more will come, creating enough of a community to engage in light discussion. I am sorta at that point with [email protected]. I have a couple other great regular posters, one of which posts daily, which helps me to reach an even bigger audience (effectively having double the content). Now I have plenty of content, I just need to keep at it, and keep the place alive and with time it should hopefully grow naturally.

I'm guessing their justification would be that both are a means to escape reality.

Lmao.

Always preferred Zetro to Dukes era, but it is still top class nevertheless. Funnily enough, I listened to Exhibit A quite early on in my journey into Exodus. Must've listened to that song countless times.

As you might remember, I was never a huge fan of what I'd heard of Destruction so far. I recently listened to this album and I think this is their best one I've listened to yet! The production is much better than their debut LP, despite it still not being great; the guitars are still razor thin, but the bass is very audible and I think the lead guitar is improved. Plus I believe the song-writing is improved and the riffs are better than ever! Take a listen.

They were great live! Modern stoner doom band from Newcastle. The female vocals are not only extremely good, but fit well with the music in my opinion.

Is lebanaise a sauce? Like mayonaise?

Very raw death thrash from New York. Infectious riffs.

This is my sort of thing. As you know, I'm really into the old-school stuff. This definitely recreates that feel and life of the older stuff for me. That being said, it does not resort to being just another revivalist carbon-copy. I feel, like you mentioned, it takes its time to create that atmosphere, which makes this track stand out more.

These guys have been on my list for a while now, I can't wait to get around to giving them a proper listen.

I've been slowly working my way through the entire discographies of the US and Teutonic big 4 bands (aside from Metallica's non-thrash material). Recently been listening to Tankard. This track from the album The Tankard stood out to me in particular.

Yesterday Warbringer announced a new album, releasing March 14th 2025! They also released a single from the album. Take a listen and tell me what you think. I personally have high expectations from these guys, especially considering their brilliant previous two albums! This single did not disappoint! Tell me your thoughts.

Straight up Teutonic aggression!

Not many people like this era of Overkill. I personally quite enjoy it, it has grown on me. I actually think this is a decent song. Might take a little getting used to, particularly for fans of their earlier stuff. The only album I actually dislike of theirs is Necroshine. I don't listen to a single song on there. Not the biggest fan of Immortalis either, but I still listen to it every now and then. There are other albums I don't listen to everything on there but I will save that for another day.

Posting about Realm reminded me to post about these guys! Love the vocals, though I prefer Mike Sanders from the first album. Check them out if you are a fan of this style. Both this vocalist and Mike have excellent clean vocals! And it goes without saying the guitars are technical and the riffs are awesome.

Vocals may be an acquired taste for some. This band reminds me somewhat of Toxik. It has a similar style of technical thrash maybe with a hint of power metal. And of course the high-pitched, almost clean vocals. Excellent guitar work as well.

If this somewhat captures your interest, I would strongly recommend checking out the entire album. It's all a top notch example of old-school thrash from England. No filler, maybe aside from the covers, which I still enjoy thoroughly. The vocalist was from a different band, only sang on this record, as I believe the label wasn't happy with Sy Keeler's (the usual vocalist at the time, also my favourite of all Onslaught's vocalists) performance on that album. While this vocalist may not be particularly suited to thrash in general, I think he delivered a fine performance and it somehow fits really well on this material. This is one of my favourite albums; at least top 25 (to quote a rough figure). Enjoy!
