Ooh that does look good! Will keep an eye out for this one.

Anybody remember those SNL skits where a character named Pat was not clearly male or female, and the whole joke was how everyone was just confused about how to address them but still ended up being polite and friendly? I don't understand how our culture got from there to people demanding proof of gender from strangers.

Here's a few ideas of games that I think will work on your system. Putting in some variety since it looks like you play different game styles.

FPS- Wolfenstein New Colossus, Old Blood and New Order (Skip Youngblood)

Stealth -Dishonored 2, Styx Master of Shadows

Dungeon crawler/roguelike - Cult of the Lamb

Rpg/Turn based combat - South Park stick of truth

I get why this was shuttered. I love Borderlands but can't imagine an mmo of the series that I'd want to play.

But if it makes this hacker happy to pursue launching this service himself, more power to him I guess.

I'm looking at jobs where they have offices in downtown SF and require full time in office because "culture" (or if they're generous, 2 days a week at home), but the pay is like $250K/year. Anywhere else that salary would be AMAZING but in SF you're going paycheck to paycheck and still commuting 2-3 hours a day. Seattle is just as bad.

Those places are beautiful and I'd love to live there, but it's not realistic for anyone who hasn't gotten some kind of windfall.

I know fortnite is a behemoth in gaming and makes about 10 billion gazillion dollars, but it seems like they are putting all their eggs in that basket without any plans for afterward. Every game falls out of style, and fortnite will too eventually. Maybe they're thinking about this internally but it just seems like they are putting themselves in a corner if they don't adequately support UE for non-fortnite use cases.

It seems like they are building to appease the AI farms now.

Of course they want child labor. Who else could they get to replace a silent population of workers who are unempowered to fight against abuse?

Unless they get creative this likely won't do anything but piss off the human users. Research from a couple years ago found that bots are better than people at captchas.

This is sort of the way

spoilerThe Wrath of Becky ends. After exacting her revenge for the second time, she gets approached by a CIA person who basically offers her a job as a field agent/professional killer and she ends up getting support ro take out one final bad guy with a flipping tank. It's a satisfying ending for the movie and for Becky.

If you haven't seen those movies, they're worth checking out. They're like 2 hours of revenge/justice porn, very violent and gory but entertaining.

Yes, and even with Valve doing some great things for gaming, it's important to note that we all will benefit from Valve having meaningful competition from Epic and GOG. If gamers spread their money around, service providers will do more to earn it.

Love the new design! It's so cute!

Just stumbled upon this 17-min film by David Lynch on Netflix and I think it's the closest I'll ever be to tripping on acid.

I feel like there's some kind of punchline or meaning that I'm missing, but maybe it's just absurdits for its own sake.

Thoughts on this film?

Hi all! Can you help me diagnose my basil plant?

I just got one of those "grow your own" herb plants from the grocery so my expectations were pretty low, and it's already done way better than expected.

I originally thought it was pollen from it flowering but I only had the one flower left after trimming and this stuff is everywhere. I've always grown basil outside and this time thought I'd try putting it in a window box (with cilantro and rosemary in case that matters) but I've not seen this before.

Is this something to worry about? If so what's a good way to treat it?

Is anyone actually surprised by this?

ADP is showing this on all hr applications now- I've encountered it a few times and always hesitate before choosing. I don't want my resume to go even further down the vortex and feed an AI model but maybe opting out just eliminates you altogether from consideration.

Have you seen this before? How have you handled it?

This employer may use an artificial intelligence algorithm to provide an initial comparison of an applicant's education, experience, and skills against the education, experience and skill requirements in the job description. This analysis produces a Profile Relevancy score, which is intended to be one of many factors that a potential employer will review in making its interview decisions; there are no cut off scores and all applications are visible to employers. Read more about how these tools collect, store, and retain information and the results of the most recent impartial evaluations. The Profile Relevancy score for applicants who opt out will be listed as "Not Available."

Should be titled: Jaguar takes the wrong lesson from Tesla's Cybertruck.

I know it's a bit different from the typical movie review/analysis but thought this was an interesting take on a great Thanksgiving day classic.

I know this is basically the same as burning money, but I found this funny and I've got $7.99 burning a hole in my pocket...

I'm not familiar with eLife but this publication model is crazy. (They aren't giving editors the choice to reject/publish -it's all published with open access reviews and an article classification by the editors of general quality (based on reviews). Surprising that they didn't see a change in volume or submissions or decline in reviews.

I'm doing a month-long series of campy, classic and unique horror movies. I'm pretty liberal in what gets included, trying for a lot of variety. I'm particularly a fan of spooky comedies (like the Burbs), and generally avoiding big franchise horror series to see more unique stuff.

I'm enjoying seeing so many movies I would never come across any other way, even if many of them aren't all that great. So far my favorite is probably Cabin in the Woods or Happy Death Day.

Anything I should add to the list?
