Ah, interesting! I've learned something new today. Thank you! Is there a way to find out how many subscribers are there in total for a specific community?

Yikes! I made my account through them. :/ Is there a thread that goes over what exactly happened?

This might also explain why lots of the /c/ I'm joining are "Subscribe Pending".

Temple Run. Didn't know there were power ups. Currently playing Nier Automata and I'm certain I'll finish that game and realize I've fucked something up.

Could the subscriber count on https://sh.itjust.works not matching up with the subscriber count shown on https://browse.feddit.de be a related issue?

On https://sh.itjust.works, [email protected] has 1.5k subscribers. But if you check on https://browse.feddit.de, that same community has 26k subscribers.

Lots of internet sites (including Reddit) usually start off as a sausage fest. It takes time for everyone else to join in.

Not sure which patterns shouldn't be repeated, but I can say that the powermods are probably not gonna have much power here. If a /c/ sucks, then just make a new one with the exact same name. Can't do that on Reddit.

Just one for the time being: sh.itjust.works. It's based in Canada and I like the name. Are there any benefits of signing up for multiple instances?

lunatics and got subsequently defederated

Which instance are you referring to?

Is there a way to search for other communities in other instances without having to add those instances on Liftoff? For example, I'm on sh.itjust.works and want to search for /c/Canada on lemmy.ca. The only way to do that is to first add lemmy.ca and then I can search.

Glad I'm not the only one. It feels like I need to add a new instance every time I look for a community outside the ones I've already added. :/

For the time being, no. The average user will be questioning why there are so many different instances of Lemmy and might get confused. For now it looks like this community is for the more tech savvy crowd. Once we figure out a way to make it easier for the average person to sign up, then we'll be good to go.

Easier signup = more people = more content = more demand to sign up
