Other than the art itself, the Calendar of Nechrubel is probably the "killer app" for Mork Borg. It is a countdown clock on your entire campaign, and the random nature leads to layering miseries that add complications to your continuing misadventures.

Despite Mork Borg's pitch-dark aesthetic, it's basically a (dark) comedy game, too miserable and grotesque to take seriously. Everything is a bit tongue-in-cheek, and the result is a solid game with a great and expansive fan community. Mechanically, it's not that special, but the aesthetic is really fun.

I'm very impressed by the Mothership 1E GM book. While a lot of GM books are full of supplementary procedures (like D&D games) or just lore books (glares at the Delta Green Handler's Guide), the WOM is actually about how to be a good GM: how to design adventures, work with your players, build tension, use themes, etc...

I don't really care about the honor of Rian Johnson, but I don't think your points are correct.

why are there suddenly cloaking devices in star wars

Cloaking devices were introduced in Episode I

why don't the imperials hyperjump in front of the fleeing rebels?

The tracking device makes hyperspace jumping a game of hopscotch. There's not really a point.

why can several characters leave a chase in progress visit some planet and come back to the chase still in progress?

Yeah, this one is kinda dumb, but it'd be possible for a small ship to escape unnoticed and get out of range in order to jump to lightspeed.

the holdo maneuver breaks several in-universe rules about how hyperdrive works.

Those rules are established in the books/supplemental materials, which aren't canon to the film series. The film-makers have no obligation to respect them. Episode 7 also breaks/rewrites the hyperspace rules.

Luke's character "development" happening entirely off-screen (and throwing out better character development from decades of books) makes the flashback scene completely unbelievable.

None of the books are canon. It makes sense that people change over long time skips, and they did outline the rationale for his mindset changes in the flashback.

It's also fitting the vanguard of America's descent into fascism will one of the earlier places (in the US) to be rendered uninhabitable by the climate change.

Fascism is a death cult.

There was discussion on trying to have tone indicators used more often on Hexbear to make the space more ND inclusive. This is a slick looking set of tone indicator emojis that could be integrated relatively easily. Having tone indicators as emojis might make then more convenient for users and would also make them stand out much more clearly in a post.

Here is the list in this set: /gen (genuine) /hj (half joking) /ij (inside joke) /j (joking) /lit (literal) /- (negative) /+ (positive) /ref (reference) /rh (rhetorical) /s (sarcastic) /srs (serious) /? (what tone is this)

What it means is that the Proud Boys weren't a nuclei of a proto-fascist movement going from the online fringes to the physical world, but just another FBI honeypot. Obviously, they were still a problem, but it recontexualizes the true enemy, which is the state in general and FBI's continuing COINTELPRO-like programs more specifically.

We still never figured out if straight people can ever have consensual sex.

That reminds me of the Liberal Socialist series of struggle sessions.

So threads will look weird since they could have posts and post chains with federated users, but you would be limited to local only content.

You see, if you're lying, that's misinformation.

If you're telling the truth but that truth benefits "our enemies" more than "our side", then it's disinformation.

I hope that clears things up.

When I get mad at posters on twitter, I also make wikipedia pages about how everyone is a Russian bot.

I was surprised to see that these videos were still getting made. I remember back in the breadtube boom checking them out, and stopped watching when they seemed real lib (in that the only politics that the video believed to exist were liberals, mainstream conservatives and alt-righters.)

Nowadays, it seems silly to even talk about the alt-right. Richard Spencer became a NAFO dork and the Proud Boys were revealed to be basically an FBI op based on how much of the leadership were informants. The extreme right is firmly embedded in the GOP, and while you still got your QAnon boomers, gropyers/zoomer falangists, patriot front, and GOP interns who just happen to be nazis, it doesn't make a lot of sense to refer to the alt-right as a fringe group as opposed to acknowledging the general half-born fascism that permeates the American right.

So, I've watched and read the first bits of both the comic and the manga. Watched the first live action episode. Was kinda of primed by the impressions in this thread, but I actually enjoyed it a lot. I honestly liked the performances a lot, especially Luffy. The performances for Nani and Zora felt pretty baseline (not bad, but not outstanding), but I liked the energy that Inaki brought. The set design felt great, and while the costuming was kinda weird, I think it matches the mix of modern & early modern clothes from the original. The score is really fun as well.
