before settling on lemmy, i checked out "reddit alternatives" and one of them was saidit. i may make an account if it's good, but i want to know if saidit.net is any good, what it's like, etc.

It could be a decent website if more people used it.

I just looked at the front page and based on that and the comments here it's another right wing echo chamber. as of writing this, the third post on the front page is a Twitter link to "End Wokeness", which is complaining about Muslim women https://saidit.net/s/whatever/comments/gtqn/this_is_how_women_are_forced_to_dress_out_in/ the comments should tell you everything you need to know.

Archives of the front page ain't looking good either https://web.archive.org/web/20250501003656/https://saidit.net/

It's a hard pass for me

seems like a right-wing echo chamber, similar to Voat.

Yikes, Voat. That brings back bad memories…

[–] jaiden 4 points 1 week ago (1 children)

I won't use it then, thanks :)

What a healthy conversation. I'm not used to it, it's making me uncomfortable.

Fuck you no reason in particular!

[–] jaiden 3 points 1 week ago (1 children)

[–] [email protected] 2 points 6 days ago (1 children)

[–] jaiden 2 points 6 days ago (1 children)

[–] [email protected] 2 points 6 days ago (1 children)

Thank you, I appreciate that... Fuck, now I'm doing it!

[–] jaiden 2 points 6 days ago

noooo, I'm turning you polite!

[–] [email protected] 3 points 1 week ago

If it makes you feel better.

I know nothing about you, but that is enough to make me hate everything about you and what you stand for.

Unless of course we can find a common enemy.

one of their popular communities seems anti-trans

hardly surprising, but still 🀒

EDIT: seems like the site is pretty dead, looks like 4 years ago a bunch of people moved there, but more recently I don't see much activity (probably for the best, considering the content seems to be pretty far-right).

I much prefer lemmy

Years back when I checked it out it was full of people into conspiracy theories and general bigotry. Interestingly they weren't specifically right-wing at the time and in fact when the site was originally started it was named something like antiextremes as a reference to not wanting to be left or right leaning.

But you know, over time it just kind of filled up with the types of people that typically got banned on mainstream sites like Reddit. You'll get an idea of how people in general are there by reading through the posts and comments there.

I agree with this, it is listed as anti extreme on a page I found on it but people got banned from reddit and seemed to make communities like LGB drop the T

Hmmm. Why not "said.it", I wonder...?
