Wow! How long until "the man" starts collecting passports, and requiring working immigrants to work off the debt of being allowed to work the fields, before allowing them access to their passports to be allowed to leave - likely with an ICE escort?
We literally already had that, Undocumented Immigrants had a way to obtain a tax id number and pay federal taxes.

It is not double think, it runs to their own worldview that immigrants are inferior and only worthy of working in manual labour.

The current status of undocumented workers is by design: they are underpaid, disempowered and vulnerable. If they try to form unions, they can be deported at no cost to the exploitative scumbags who hire them. If the employer wants to get away with a bit of wage theft, they just have to call la migra. Any future arrangement will replicate this situation, possibly with even more precariousness for the immigrants.
Slave labor ... this is the goal ... bring people in on the strictest terms, make vague promises to them about citizenship if they keep working ... then make them work for a lifetime with no benefits, no protection, little pay (or even no pay), owners can be free to treat them as they like, no one is punished for abusing them, label them as less than human.
His goal is unquestionably slave labor.
He thrives in creating chaos that other people have to sort out, because he rarely has to deal with the repercussions.
Just the worst type of person to be in charge of anything.
So when he says "great again", we now know the time period he was thinking.

no, this is the new migrant visa card made from compressed cheeto dust. it costs half their gross wages each month. it allows employers to treat them like slaves, they have no constitutional rights, and they can still be kicked out and banned from re-entry on a whim or a sneeze from the white house.
Not just kicked out and banned, but sent to some torture prison or outright killed.

I know it sounds harsh, but I hope they don't come back. If they get treated like this once and then get the "opportunity" to come back on a provisional basis what's going to stop this administration from making camps where they are allowed to live only to work on a farm with no time off? What about the off seasons? Do they still get to stay? The ones who've left are the lucky ones. If history has taught us anything is that deporting en mass is just the first step. If nothing causes a major change in leadership, well, it's been a good run. Hopefully, from the ashes rises something better.
