Yeah, I think that's one of the scariest things. Previous presidents have done a lot of terrible things, but there's always been a basic rhetoric of morality- at oeast a pretence that official policy us "the right thing".
The US's latest bunch of clown have openly hateful and dishonest language, without any sense of shame. I don't even think we've seen the beginning of the level of cruelty a country can achieve when it suddenly abandons any rule of law or accountability.

They're on board with him. Invasions create job security for them. The military won't care until they're told to fire on Americans, and even then a large part won't care, as long as they're firing on the "wrong" kind of people.

If he actually orders an invasion of Greenland I'd put the odds at around 12%. My guess is around 60% the military will refuse to carry out the order (it would be after all in violation of the War Powers Resolution unless congress approves), then 80% chance Trump will back down. Of course that's if he gives the order, my guess of that is around 30%, reducing the odds of a greenland-related coup to around 4%. In reality the most likely path is that once the military explains to Trump that they want congressional approval, he'll lose interest and go on to scaring us some other way.
Complicity tends to be the norm until things get really bad.

Thinking about why the US is so keen on Greenland: It's only relevant for them if they intend to make enemies out of the EU, because they already have all the access they need. But only as long as they are allied with Europe.
It's clear where this is headed. Russia is not the only reason why Europe is rearming.
He's planning to withdraw from NATO. Otherwise it makes no sense. USA already has more or less free access to build any military base they want there

All of a sudden the conservative rhetoric is that indigenous Greenlanders are mistreated by the Danes and that’s unfair; they need America’s help.
That's such transparently stupid bullshit. If they believed that they'd start by helping indigenous Americans. It sickens me that so many people are idiotic enough to either believe this or just not care.

If Trump was only an America problem, I would say the same thing you are saying.
I'm fine if the world attacks the US just enough so that Trump recedes to only the US.
What I am saying is that if Trump is making threats to the world, the world should take it seriously and deal with it now instead of letting him push boundaries without repercussions. His threats are going to just get bigger and hurt more people than when the threats are smaller.
The world needs to be on guard and protect itself.

Try as I may to avoid this absurd political reality I find myself in, I am continuously dumbfounded by these headlines. I have to check everytime if the post is an Onion article.
The Onion is gonna go bankrupt at this rate. I just imagine the editors coming up with stories and headlines, only to crumple and toss them in the trash whenever Trump holds a press conference.
The Dutch equivalent of The Onion actually send a cease and desist letter to one of our ministers, because they can't compete with the shit she is saying (this woman gives Trump's government a run for their money in terms of both evilness and incompetence)

a strange part of me wants to see this go as badly as possible because that's how much I hate Donald Trump and all of the Americans who voted for him and the ones who didn't vote. but that's me being an angry psychopath right? I shouldn't feel this way or want these things. they're really bad
I would like to believe not that the worst happens to the USA, because of the damage that could do globally. But, I do hope that if Trump tried to take Greenland unprovoked that the citizens would not stand for it.
A hope that is quickly dwindling...
there's nothing that makes me think that anyone would stop him. The entire path of the country would simply shift indefinitely, as per the principles of democracy
I have full confidence that the US Military could take Greenland, I don't have confidence that the US could deal with the international fallout that would come from it.
