Moderator Guidelines
Moderator Guidelines
- Don’t be mean to users. Be gentle or neutral.
- Most moderator actions which have a modlog message should include your username.
- When in doubt about whether or not a user is problematic, send them a DM.
- Don’t waste time debating/arguing with problematic users.
- Assume the best, but don’t tolerate sealioning/just asking questions/concern trolling.
- Ask another mod to take over cases you struggle with, if you get tired, or when things get personal.
- Ask the other mods for advice when things get complicated.
- Share everything you do in the mod matrix, both so several mods aren't unknowingly handling the same issues, but also so you can receive feedback on what you intend to do.
- Don't rush mod actions. If a case doesn't need to be handled right away, consider taking a short break before getting to it. This is to say, cool down and make room for feedback.
- Don’t perform too much moderation in the comments, except if you want a verdict to be public or to ask people to dial a convo down/stop. Single comment warnings are okay.
- Send users concise DMs about verdicts about them, such as bans etc, except in cases where it is clear we don’t want them at all, such as obvious transphobes. No need to notify someone they haven’t been banned of course.
- Explain to a user why their behavior is problematic and how it is distressing others rather than engage with whatever they are saying. Ask them to avoid this in the future and send them packing if they do not comply.
- First warn users, then temp ban them, then finally perma ban them when they break the rules or act inappropriately. Skip steps if necessary.
- Use neutral statements like “this statement can be considered transphobic” rather than “you are being transphobic”.
- No large decisions or actions without community input (polls or meta posts f.ex.).
- Large internal decisions (such as ousting a mod) might require a vote, needing more than 50% of the votes to pass. Also consider asking the community for feedback.
- Remember you are a voluntary moderator. You don’t get paid. Take a break when you need one. Perhaps ask another moderator to step in if necessary.
"I am become DOGE, destroyer of the woke mind virus"
Ugh, I can imagine him posting that 🤮
he already said "I am become meme" while cosplaying as his own ai generated image
elon is a lot like hal, a loser that was given too much power
It's really, really hard to find a movie villain equivalent to Musk. To make movies entertaining the villains have to be clever and/or menacing. Even in comedies like Austin Powers or Megamind they have to be somewhat intelligent or powerful to make defeating them a challenge for the heroes.
Maybe Musk counts as a Lord Farquaad, whose main power is... power? Even then it's a stretch.
The guy from the first Iron Man movie.
The first one had Jeff Bridges as Obidah Stane being the bad guy. Stane was pretty clever and menacing. Iron Man 2 had Mickey Rourke as Ivan Vanko, who was a pretty awesome bad guy (this movie also featured an Elon Musk cameo). I think you probably mean Iron Man 3 where the bad guy was Guy Pearce playing Aldrich Killian, a sniveling nerd who becomes powerful, but also is the "power behind the throne", making people believe that The Mandarin appear to be the bad guy.
I got confused, I mean IM2, the character Sam Rockwell plays
Justin Hammer from Hammer Industries. Good one.
He at least got in a robot suit and didn't sulk so much.
portal 2 spoilers
Or Wheatley from portal 2, except for him wasn't obvious that he was going to be evil once he got power.
Portal 2 spoilers
Wheatley was at least a sympathetic villain. He was intentionally engineered to be stupid. I felt bad for the dumb ass at the end.
Elon Musk however is not sympathetic at all.
which makes it fit even better!
While not familiar, glad for your suggestion. Very curious.
What is this ? A game ? ヽ(・∀・)ノ
Cool thing about rain world is that it has a whole ecosystem of critters that run around and do their own thing independently of you, so this gif might just be of the big guy having a snack and have nothing to do with the player directly.
Never considered...can a leviathan be tamed?
I have absolutely no idea, I've barely played it, I just saw an essay about the design and thought it was cool.
Can confirm, very cool game
A brutal simulator/action game. You play as a little slugcat in a world of predators and devastating environments. You have to progress through cunning and luck, avoiding predators and if necessary, killing them, all while keeping yourself fed and avoiding death at the hands of an uncaring world.
This game has an excellent atmosphere, with beautiful environments and worldbuilding. It has animations reminiscent of Flash games with everything having dynamic movements for their limbs, heads, etc. It's also very unfair and difficult. But getting through the main story was very satisfying.
Apparently it's a 2017 survival platform game. Wasn't familiar, myself, but it has a distinct look about it.
Not a gif but this was my dude Pure Downpour, I miss Fancy Slugcats as it was.
nah, key difference being that Oppenheimer was very clever at a couple of things and Elon musk has been getting consistently dumber for years.
Pretty sure Jake is Oppenheimer in this meme, realising the cost of his vision for the future coming true.
Nobody listens
Pretty much all of us who were yelling about the dangers of the path we're heading got Cassandra'd
I've yelled about the rise of fascism for years and years. All I got were responses like "you're overreacting", "it's going to be fine", "stop being alarmist"
The ~~man~~ person (removing unnecessarily gendered language from common phrases ftw), the myth, the legend
Fuxkkkk
