Is this that government waste that DOGE was supposed to be cutting? Because funding new studies for thoroughly debunked nonsense is absolutely wasteful.

[–] [email protected] 11 points 1 day ago

Maybe they can investigate whether the Earth is flat too, while they're making such good use of people's taxes.

We've done this already. Prepare for this "study" to reveal facts that were previously proven false without a doubt miraculously.

Study: "We hand picked 23 people who displayed certain tendencies and had taken vaccines in the past, then diagnosed them with autism."

Headline: STUDY SHOWS DIRECT LINK BETWEEN AUTISM AND VACCINES

[–] [email protected] 1 points 1 day ago

That's exactly what's gonna happen

[–] [email protected] 6 points 1 day ago

Ms Jenny McCarthy started this whole thing in the us

[–] [email protected] 25 points 1 day ago (1 children)

If they actually do, they might find all the studies that have already shown that there is no connection.

[–] [email protected] 1 points 1 day ago

Oh Hun, bless your heart

[–] [email protected] 13 points 1 day ago

So are they gonna spend any time with valid studies?

He really is doing his own research now. This might be good. Like the flat-earther on Netflix who accidentally proved that the Earth is round

Such groups getting power love to have attractive, believable faces, like con groups. If such a face has real provable connection to a popular person, even better.

If RFK really is an honest antivaxxer, then yes, "his own research" may lead to him admitting he was wrong and be a wholesome event in general.

If RFK is such a face, then this doesn't matter.

[–] [email protected] 4 points 2 days ago (1 children)

Wait, you think rfk is attractive?

[–] [email protected] 1 points 1 day ago

By association with jfk

[–] [email protected] 21 points 2 days ago* (last edited 2 days ago) (1 children)

This place isn't The onion right?

[–] [email protected] 14 points 2 days ago* (last edited 2 days ago)

Imagine an antivaxxer is the health secretary and you would get why this research is coming out. Be prepared for some other bullshit “research” based on another ignorant fear. Like eugenics and criminals or some really bullshit.

[–] [email protected] 14 points 2 days ago (1 children)

Will this be an actual study, or just a “study” where they bend the data to suit their agenda?

Okay, I used to work for a supplement distributor, and I'm going to explain to you how the supplement industry works. You'll then be able to see how they intend to pull this kind of BS.

Determine whether you will sell to weight loss, skin care, or masculine fragility. Now go find yourself a Third World country, the usual is Brazil because it has a considerable population and a fairly large medical establishment. Find a study that was done that addresses in some fashion what you're trying to sell. The study will probably be of a small population and have a slight effect on a small percentage of that population.

Now you can go ahead and market your product and claim that a medical study says that some people will see an effect. Let your marketing people go ahead and spin that however they want, you've got your evidence.

Now do you see how the brainworm's CDC is going to go ahead and push whatever point of view he wants?

[–] GrumpyDuckling 2 points 1 day ago (1 children)

To what end? Just to kill your own supporters?

[–] earphone843 2 points 1 day ago (1 children)

They're going to ban vaccines outright.

[–] GrumpyDuckling 2 points 1 day ago (1 children)

I still don't undrrstand why

[–] [email protected] 1 points 1 day ago* (last edited 1 day ago) (1 children)

It's simply because they're stupid. They think they're saving people from autism and that vaccines either don't prevent illness or are no longer necessary. That's literally all it is in this case.

It comes from the hubris that they could possibly know better about medicine than the consensus of actual medical doctors and medical scientists. A lot of people buy into conspiracies because the feeling that they have some secret/superior knowledge makes them feel special, and here we are because RFK Jr just really wants to feel like a special boy and is too clueless to realize he doesn't have a clue.

[–] GrumpyDuckling 1 points 1 day ago

I thought they were concerned about flouride lowering IQ yet they want to "cure" autism, curious 🤔
