~~The only place you can buy their stuff in CAD is on Amazon and~~ I've deleted my amazon account for what they did in Quebec. ~~They may be in Canada but they're making it hard for me to support them.~~
I was wrong, they are 100% Canadian and you can buy in CAD on their website.
Looks like you can buy right from their website without amazon. They use Shop Pay.
Yeah, my bad. my desktop defaulted to USD and I didn't get a CAD popup. I'll edit my post.
I avoid Shop pay and used credit card where possible since several Shop executives are pro-annexation and are basically creating the Canadian version of project 2025.

Rechargeable batteries have been a thing for 30+ years. We have old battery collection points in most super markets.
What problem does this solve?
Well, the shareholders want money. So it could solve that problem.
uhm... there are no shares for that company.
If it's privately owned, there are owners who want to make money. If it's a nonprofit, there are employees who want a paycheque.
Yeah you don't need to over pay on batteries to recycle them just take them to your local recycling center... GREENWASH
I don’t know a single person that takes their batteries to be recycled though
I do. It's really easy. Even staples has bins for them.
I'm in PEI and most grocery stores have a battery recycle bin.
We don't use many non-recharge batteries, but we drop whatever dies in the bin.

Our apartment building has a bucket in the lobby for old batteries. Those go to the recycling place every year or whenever anyone is going that way.
More of an education problem. Which won't really be fixed by this... Right like I don't know anyone who is going to pay extra for these batteries for something they already don't care about.
Depends on where you live... Like in Mississauga this is a non-starter due to local programs. I think it has a better chance of targeting rich Americans that don't have these local recycling programs and are more susceptible to paying to greenwash.
Hi I used to take my batteries to recycling the centres, but then I moved to rechargeable batteries.
Even if you personally disagree with the business, given the current tarriff war, we should still be buying Canadian or encouraging others to buy Canadian.
This is the way.
Yeah I think people are missing the point here. If its an option to buy batteries from a Canadian company, why not?
Reminder that batteries are not "dead" until they cannot be used for anything anymore. Just because the voltage isnt high enough for that motorized kid's toy doesnt mean it wont work in a remote or some other lower voltage application. So many batteries get tossed when they still throw a good 1.4 v.
