Since the only vague summaries are being widely reported and the details are going to matter to many people here, this is where the full text of yesterday's executive order redefining gender and sex may be found.

2 days in and I'm ready to move out of my house since I live with my MAGA mother-in-law, she defends shit like this while my daughter and another of her grandkids are transitioning, I'm through.

it makes clear the distinction between sex and gender, and wants official operations, including assignments of “intimate” spaces to be based on sex, not gender.

It gags me that they pretend to justify this as "defense of women" when we all know how little they care about the lives and safety of women. Also I guess now transmen will be expected to use the Ladies Room, I'm sure the pearl-clutchers will be delighted with that. And the transwomen should feel incredibly safe using the Men's Room.

No it does not, it doesn't even go into that issue. Assault will still be assault and the law should be enforced as such.

If they believe that, why do they bother with the bathroom segregation? Why not just treat all cases of assault the same and ignore the segregation? (I would like this)

The bathroom segregation here is go prevent endangering women. But he does not mention how to handle assault in these places or whether that should be different for each gender.
