State department approved moderation policy, these people must have been extremely obedient hall monitors in high school

Yes lol, second line from the blahaj link:

Edit - Hexbear announced plans to deferedate from us.

From what I saw it was because of the behavior of the mods there, among other things (links in the link): https://hexbear.net/post/369410

Due to multiple factors, such as unaddressed ableist removals from the /c/196 moderators, defense of chasers, no-quarter rules regarding our users, leakage of good-faith DMs from our admin team, and a general lack of initiative to punish these behaviors, we have come to the conclusion that the 196 community on lemmy.blahaj.zone has made the fediverse an unsafe space for our queer, disabled, neurodivergent, non-western, and other marginalized comrades on this forum, and we will be defederating from lemmy.blahaj.zone until we can be confident that this will not continue to be an issue.

violently oppressing fascists is the lesser evil option though

From personal experience they're great at spending inordinate amounts of time attempting to browbeat people who are not interested in voting for their team

For pedestrians vs cars it already is

Getting policed on tone sounds like hell. God forbid someone be angry at injustice.

You figured it out, but on lemmy.ml at least everyone shows that icon, if they're on server or not. It is actually useful because you can view a thread from their server POV

It's uncanny, so many times when I run into a commenter with a specific axe to grind about hexbear, they got already banned for something weird, in this case 2 days prior

One amusing bit re: hexbear, it's been around almost as long as lemmy.ml and lemmygrad.ml, but it seems was only added to the tracker last year, as it shows up as 12 months old, I have to imagine it's including posts/comments from before that timeframe because bozhe moi:

Even if you divide the hexbear comments by 4 they'd still be in the top ~~3~~ 2 excluding the reddit repost bot. Yappers.

There's actually a lot of lgbt people there, based on their last poll:

It's not that there isn't, it's just that it's not necessarily economically viable, or in a state of active production. Unless we plan on sanctioning Chinese graphite in order to make it viable. That would then raise the question of where do we get it from until our own suppliers come online?

[–] [email protected] 4 points 1 week ago (1 children)

I had no idea that graphite was all being imported, wild

Industrial development and planning is actually really hard to drive from the top down, let alone catching up with people who are already ahead.
