Has he cleared that with his husband, President Musk, yet?

Helps him. No competition. And I'm sure Tesla will be exempt.
Lol. Looks like someone got paid off.
But hey, Americans voted for corruption and regression. So that's what we're going to get.
Give yourselves a pat on the back. We played ourselves...again.
Hey, I didn't play myself, over a hundred thousand Americans played me.
It was stolen, you’re telling me he won all 7 swing states?
Once you realize the average American voter is stupid af, doesn’t understand basic civics, doesn’t understand basic macro economics, doesn’t understand the President doesn’t control gas prices, and the list goes on and on. It’s less likely Trump and Co stole anything (there’s no evidence of there of it) and more likely the blame is on ignorant or blinded or willingly fascists voters to bring about “change” on their feelings and vibes. Plus the Dems ran a pretty shitty campaign. Caucusing with Liz fucking Cheney? Jfc what an L that was.
True once you factor that all in plus how “smart” the average American is and knowing there are less intelligent folks that make up the bottom half then I get it. I just don’t get the loss of 7 million voters for the dems from 2020 to 2024 vs the same guy. Spoonamore’s recent post about countries in AZ. Smart Elections press release they just put out.
Maybe I’m still on a little hopium. I deleted my Reddit account a while ago but I periodically check r/somethingiswrong2024 some post are grasping at straws but some are seriously concerning.
I wonder what his DOGE douche is going to think about that
Teslas have no appeal for government vehicles anyways. They're overpriced, unmaintainable, and unmodifiable. The cybertruck only comes with a permanently covered bed, which is not useful if you want to use it like a truck.
This will hurt government orgs that want to use electric trucks for short distance hauls and the post office. One will cost you more money, and the other will help republicans in the polls.
Hasn’t NASA been using Teslas for years now?
Something tells me this won't go through if Elon has a fraction the influence he seems to think he does
It'll go through in areas where Tesla doesn't or can't make a product for it. There isn't even going to be the pretense of fairness here. It's why CEOs are lining up to grovel at Trump's feet
DOD has bought Teslas for it's GOV fleet before.
It's like everyone's crazy-ass right wing uncle/grandfather who's still living in 1980 and still thinks EVs are "hippie mobiles" managed to snake his way into power.
If they only knew what kind of power an electric motor can put out from a dead stop. Maybe we can get them to appreciate the "Tim Allen grunt" aspect of EVs. They are going to flip their shit when motorsports like drag racing switch over to electric.
Lol, can you imagine BYD buying its way into NASCAR?
An EV doing 500 miles on a single charge?
Yeah, right. Lol
Quick change system. Drop the battery and lever the new one into place. As long as your pit crew (who train as professional athletes) can get their bespoke engineered stuff into place as fast or faster than a gas refill you're good to go.
They do already have Formula E. They race for 45 minutes but the cars can travel about 310-372 miles. That distance has been increasing over the years
edit: additional information
Fast swapping batteries is probably the distance racing solution.
If only consumers could have battery quick-swapping technology.
I imagine a world where gas stations are converted into battery storage facilities and where everyone all has the same, standardized battery type.
You pull in over a pit, a scanner locates the battery, a robot arm comes up to yank the installed battery and another arm installs a charged one. Done in 30 seconds.
There was a video of a system like that for Chinese taxis making the rounds not too long ago.
Would be sweet.
It's been experimented with over the years, including by Tesla. There are a whole bunch of mechanical and practical issues. Charger networks are expanding fast, and that approach is being left behind.
For race cars, though, it's fine.
Pretty soon we won't need humans at all! Well I say down with the machines! I say we bring back gas station attendants.
I for one would like my battery swap to be carried out by a high school dropout of dubious sobriety. You just pull in, wait awkwardly making angry furtive eye contact with the attendant. You can't tell whether he's angry, or his face graffiti just makes him appear so. Probably both. He eventually ambles over and preforms the swap. He wipes your windshield in the hopes of a tip. Leaving grimy streaks behind, an apt metaphor for his life past or present. You hand over a fiver over out of guilt more than any appreciation of a service rendered. You pull out.
Done in 30 minutes. It's the American way.
The Trump regime's policies will just accelerate the process of the USA being left behind as the rest of the world advances in technology and infrastructure. Unfortunately the MAGAs will not care, and when it affects them they'll just pick a vulnerable minority to blame.
Didn't the US Army recently purchase what is essentially EV dirt bikes for RECCE purposes and found them extremely useful?
Yes but who is the corrupt criminal that got voted in?
Yup. Turns out silent vehicles are massively useful in reconnaissance. Who could have known? (Every soldier ever)
Who could have seen this coming!
Ohhh. I see. They (Trump's GOP) want to eliminate all federal agencies unless they can be used as punishment.
I've been convinced that they intend to follow through on the decades-long plan to push everything not explicitly in the constitution to the states or private corporations. This article suggests that the EPA could be used to punish ZEV states and force them to do what they want. Yeah - that makes more sense under a fascism.
The so-called ZEV states (for Zero Emissions Vehicles) do have something closer to an EV mandate, and from model-year 2026 in these states (California, Connecticut, Colorado, Delaware, Maine, Maryland, Massachusetts, Minnesota, Nevada, New Jersey, New York, Pennsylvania, Oregon, Rhode Island, Vermont, Virginia, Washington, and the District of Columbia) a third of all new cars sold by each automaker will have to be battery-electric—assuming the EPA grants California a waiver to allow this to happen.
Which frankly speaking sounds like a great way to get the states go ignore the federal government. There isnt much the feds can do if the states start to ignore the civil structure, especially if they can figure out how to cutoff federal tax revenue.
Which the billionaires and corporations would love. Less taxes and they can easily play the smaller governments off against each other.
Elon will be delighted.
Uh oh, Daddy Elon won't like that.
Tesla will get a carve-out. This is to own the libs.
Eat poopy Donnie
