Rules:

  1. Post only links to articles, Title must fairly describe link contents. If your title differs from the site’s, it should only be to add context or be more descriptive. Do not post entire articles in the body or in the comments.

Links must be to the original source, not an aggregator like Google Amp, MSN, or Yahoo.

Example:

  1. Articles must be relevant to politics. Links must be to quality and original content. Articles should be worth reading. Clickbait, stub articles, and rehosted or stolen content are not allowed. Check your source for Reliability and Bias here.
  2. Be civil, No violations of TOS. It’s OK to say the subject of an article is behaving like a (pejorative, pejorative). It’s NOT OK to say another USER is (pejorative). Strong language is fine, just not directed at other members. Engage in good-faith and with respect! This includes accusing another user of being a bot or paid actor. Trolling is uncivil and is grounds for removal and/or a community ban.
  3. No memes, trolling, or low-effort comments. Reposts, misinformation, off-topic, trolling, or offensive. Similarly, if you see posts along these lines, do not engage. Report them, block them, and live a happier life than they do. We see too many slapfights that boil down to "Mom! He's bugging me!" and "I'm not touching you!" Going forward, slapfights will result in removed comments and temp bans to cool off.
  4. Vote based on comment quality, not agreement. This community aims to foster discussion; please reward people for putting effort into articulating their viewpoint, even if you disagree with it.
  5. No hate speech, slurs, celebrating death, advocating violence, or abusive language. This will result in a ban. Usernames containing racist, or inappropriate slurs will be banned without warning

We ask that the users report any comment or post that violate the rules, to use critical thinking when reading, posting or commenting. Users that post off-topic spam, advocate violence, have multiple comments or posts removed, weaponize reports or violate the code of conduct will be banned.

All posts and comments will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis. This means that some content that violates the rules may be allowed, while other content that does not violate the rules may be removed. The moderators retain the right to remove any content and ban users.

That's all the rules!

"Attention to all blacks who plan to vote for Trump," the sign outside New Era Baptist Church reads, "you are an ignorant stupid negro." The other side says, "Warning African Americans: A vote for Trump will put Blacks back to picking cotton."

Good it’s true. He is a literal racist. If you will vote for someone that hates people with your skin color you deserve what comes to you.

I don't care for the vitriol but the sentiment is exactly how I feel.

Any person who is not a white male millionaire that votes for trump I'd am idiot, but it's particular true of black people and hispanics.

[–] Peppycito 17 points 3 weeks ago

I'd am aren't a idiot 😠

[–] [email protected] 2 points 3 weeks ago

Here’s the thing, white male millionaires always end up the deadest during autocracies. They think they will be able to keep and grow their power and the opposite is true.

Having money doesn’t keep you from being a dumbass.

I'm agree with you on this particular exact situation.

Title feels like clickbait. Would be more convinced it was deliberate clickbait if the thumbnail didn't directly show the sign saying "negro" and not the actual slur.

But that just makes the choice of title more confusing.

[–] [email protected] 6 points 3 weeks ago (2 children)

I mean, I sort of agree but it's not like they could put "Negro" in the title and they did properly put the correct number of dashes for the missing letters.

[–] [email protected] -1 points 3 weeks ago (1 children)

They could if they meant negro, which means black in Spanish, not n----, the archaic term for black people. See? Censored.

[–] [email protected] 5 points 3 weeks ago

Just for clarification, I fully agree with the censorship. I just agree that at first glance it looks like they used the OTHER N word, which is what the first was saying when he mentioned "clickbait".

[–] [email protected] 35 points 3 weeks ago

Oh FFS, "negro" isn't the "N" word, and this is within the black community so don't judge. I'm glad they're speaking plain truth in a way that might have genuine impact.

[–] [email protected] 34 points 3 weeks ago

😅 holy shit, this church is based

[–] [email protected] 17 points 3 weeks ago (4 children)

Uh, the N- word in the title is misleading. Do people blot out the term when talking about UNCF, too?

[–] [email protected] 6 points 3 weeks ago* (last edited 3 weeks ago)

I know right? Really loud virtue signal fail there.

[–] [email protected] 2 points 3 weeks ago (1 children)

Yep. NAA*P censored their name too.

[–] [email protected] 1 points 3 weeks ago

Not that I'm advocating for bringing terms back - I realize certain things fall out of fashion - but I do wonder how the titles, and the content, of MLK's speeches are discussed. I noticed for a time that the term "black" was also seemingly teed up for a similar treatment, by the way and that did not happen.

Is a long o the same as a hard r?

[–] [email protected] 1 points 3 weeks ago (1 children)

United Nations Cabana Fund?

[–] [email protected] 2 points 3 weeks ago

Going by what I guess is a new norm, it's the United N---- College Fund. They used to do spots on television way back.

[–] [email protected] 6 points 3 weeks ago (1 children)

Talking politics in church tho? I mean I also agree with the sentiment but what happened to being citizens of the kingdom that is not of this earth? I understand lots of religious leaders are advocating for the other side, but it seems wrong to me either way.

[–] [email protected] 1 points 3 weeks ago

I hear you - I just think we’re that far gone. It’s that bad. Pull out all the stops.
